Will Dudgeon is 13 years old when his body is stolen by a century-hopping villain. Suddenly, Will's the oldest man he's ever seen (with all the aches and pains that go with that).

At least he's inherited the right job. As assistant at Nettlefold and Dad Funeral Directors, Will can offer really wicked, wedged, full-on, top-dog, superfine funerals, best and plushest on the terrace! But for how long? Can Will persuade the dastardly Hornbeam to give him his young body back, or will his next funeral be his own?

"[T]he exploration of old age and the fact that Hornbeam is so devilish make this novel compelling and unique" (WriteAway)

Generation body swap-based stories are my favourites and while Neil Grainger's rather dry narration marred it slightly, it is an interesting and empathetic look at a young person in an older person's life, with people who occasionally treat you with disrespect and impatience and various aches and pains which an old form comes with it.
A tip of the hat to Howarth.

Fun, engaging and honest.
