Summary
When Sienna Hegarty turns up at his family home one night, covered in blood and frozen in shock, psychologist Joe O'Loughlin finds himself drawn deep into her world, trying to unearth the dark secrets her mind has buried. The police find a major piece of the puzzle at Sienna’s house: her father, a retired cop, is face-down in a pool of his own blood, his throat slashed and his skull caved in. The blood covering Sienna was his.
The 14-year-old can’t remember what happened that night but, at the same time, Sienna doesn’t mourn her father’s death. What was going on behind closed doors in the Hegarty household? Is Sienna guilty of brutal murder? And what part has her charismatic teacher, Gordon Ellis, played in this blood-soaked event?

Entrawling Listen..
I have listened to three other Michael Robotham books; The Suspect, Shatter, and Lost. Bleed for Me has topped all of them.
I couldn't wait to get back to it when I had to pause or stop the track. The story twists and turns and is peppered with interesting characters that have a lot of depth. Michael Robotham has obviously honed his writing skills as there is detail where needed and the pacing is pretty spot on. I highly recommend this read to anyone, especially those who like detective thrillers and if you liked Shatter you will definitely like this.

A truly great listen
I have never listened to this author before. Bleed for me was so good. It covered some very difficult issues surrounding the crimes however it was so beautifully written with care and delicacy that you did not feel it voyeuristic listening about the subjects covered. I could not stop listening to the tale unfolding, all the characters involved, descriptive without being 'arty' and the fabulous naration by Sean Barret, who along with Saul Reichlin should be made to read all the books on audible due to there intonation and understanding of the characters they are portraying. I actually only picked out this book having read 'strattons war' also read by Sean Barret.
My only dissapointment is that the book is now over. I am off to see what else this author has written..hopefully read by one of the above!

Brilliant
Absolutely brilliant, time just raced by listening to this, I was so disappointed when it ended, my only gripe is that there are too few of this authors audio books available. I cannot wait for the next one. The narrator was just right as well. He brought each character to life.

Top Notch Thriller
Michael Robotham hits the mark once again with this brilliant thriller. Robotham puts psychologist Joe O'loghlin back onto the page. I will not give a synopsis of the story as I'm sure you will have already read the publishers summary. The story is written in the first person, from the point of view of O'loughlin. The author writes in a relaxed style, but he is able to seemlessly increase the pace and build tension, without interupting the flow of the story.
This is the fourth book in Robotham's O'loughlin series and to really appreciate the book I would recommend that you read the novels in order. Many of the characters from earlier books reappear hear, ex cop Vincent Ruiz and Detective Inspector Veronica Gray will already be familiar to anyone who has read Robotham's last book.
Robotham is not afraid to deal with contencious issues, this story involves racism and the main villain is a manipulative and sadistic paedophile. The author deals with these issues with sympathy, without shying away from the gritty truth. Narrator Sean Barret is once again superb, he brings Robotham's wonderfully drawn characters to life, each character is easily identifiable, if there is a better narrator out there, I have yet to listen to them.
I stronly recommend anyone who has not read a Michael Robotham novel, do a little research, read the author's books in order and work your way through the series to this great book.

Another fine book by the author
This is a gripping and multi-layered story centred on psychologist Joe O’Loughlin who appears in a series of books by the author. Joe is one of the strengths of this series as he is sympathetic character wounded by his broken marriage and physically hampered by advancing Parkinson’s disease. His troubled relationships with his estranged wife and older daughter add an extra dimension and occasional humour that the book would otherwise lack.
Joe becomes involved in a complex case after a friend of his older daughter is found traumatised after claiming to have found her father murdered in her bedroom. Joe volunteers to help the girl remember the scene and thus gets involved in the police efforts to piece together evidence to find the killer. A web of false leads and further crimes emerge encompassing grooming and sexual exploitation of young girls, blackmail, and racial hate crimes. Sounds pretty grim, and it is, but it’s a powerful novel that makes one think about exploitation of vulnerable people.
Sean Barrett is a superb narrator as usual

Sick
Child sexual abuse is not entertainment. Integrity sadly lacking from author and publisher. Not my cuppa at all.

Another triumph
I was compelled to read this having so much enjoyed "Shatter" by the same author and was happy to hear the same narrator too. The mind games of some of the characters were fascinating - the empathy evoked by the mental and physical frailty of the victims was jolting. I almost missed the last call on a flight because of this cliffhanger! I do hope there will be another follow-up. I dare you to read this!

Interesting plot with good character development
I didn't find this novel as gripping as 'Shatter' but it was interesting to see the consequences of that novel played out in this. The story was interesting with some satisfying twists and turns, and I enjoyed the continuing development of the characters. Sean Barret is an always reliable narrator who does voices very well and I'm really hoping there will be another in this series.
