Summary

Fast ein Jahr ist nun vergangen, seit Rosemary Barton bei ihrer Geburtstagsfeier im Restaurant "Luxembourg" tot zusammengebrochen ist. Obwohl die gerichtliche Untersuchung den Tod als Selbstmord bescheinigte, lässt das plötzliche Ableben Rosemarys die damaligen Gäste nicht zur Ruhe kommen. Als ihr Ehemann George Barton auch noch anonyme Briefe erhält, in dem von Mord die Rede ist, arrangiert er zum ersten Jahrestag erneut ein Essen im selben Restaurant, am selben Tisch mit den selben Gästen und ... mit dem selben Ausgang.
