Summary

The entire audience at the George Theatre saw Charlotte Devaraux stab William Kirkpatrick with a fake dagger, but they gasped even more when they realized he was dead. Assisted by Sergeant Patterson and Dr. Ellie Carr, Blackstone follows the trail of the killer.

Aggravatingly disconnected

I read the first two books in this series and enjoyed them but then there are two books in the sequence not on audible. I took a chance it wouldn’t matter but it niggled all the way through this book and characters had developed in ways that had no logic without the sequence. Not the fault of either author or narrator, I suspect, but did remind me why I don’t generally read series with gaps in.
