Really good but for two issues
Please stop using the word “belly”, it is gross and does not need multiple uses
Also, cut the sex scenes, I am no pride but they make me cringe, some things are better alluded to
Otherwise, an excellent series of books

disappointing
Love Peter May's books but this one didn't grab me. I got fed up hearing how every woman he came into contact with fell at his feet. Really Peter? The storyline was a bit fantastical and seemed more about the various love affairs the protagonist had going on than the crime. Yawnful!

Backlight blue
A gripping story line throughout. A clever balance of suspence and intriguing family influx of the protagonist.

Reasonably good story
This IsEnzo McLeod book 3 and the series is already pretty formulaic and predictable.
As ever the cops are portrayed as incompetent and lazy as naturally Enzo outdoes them. (Hmm...on second thoughts perhaps it’s realistic)
The plot is fair and the story is well narrated. However I agree with another Enzo reviewer that it seems any female he meets he has has laid, is laying or will lay. This is highly unlikely as nobody likes old geezers with pony tails. On top of this he is incredibly chauvinistic. The author has given him stereotypical and cliched Scottish attributes which is a bit yucky.
His team of helpers don’t actually help much but are mainly devices used to explain his thinking and the plot.
Enzo is pretty resilient if annoying . He gets hit on the head a lot but never seems to be the worse for it. I’m not sure I’ll bother with book 4 as I think it will be the same as books 1-3

excellent again
Well narrated, probably one of the best in the May audible series.Excellent storyline too l with good atmospherics but not dwelling on a thread line for 3 chapters like many similar thrillers do.

Bizarre Beginning Of The Plot!
At the start of the book, Enzo Macleod is diagnosed with a terminal illness!
As a result of his illness Enzo realises he is short of time, but he is still determined to solve this cold case. Once again his family & his own life, are threatened.
His daughter is nearly killed, Enzo is mugged, arrested & being framed for murder!
Enzo needs all of his forensic skills, if he is to solve this case.
