Summary

The unabridged, downloadable audiobook edition of Clive Cussler's Black Wind, another thrilling adventure starring the notorious Dirk Pitt. Read by the award-winning narrator Scott Brick.

In the waning days of World War II, the Japanese tried a last desperate measure - a different kind of kamikaze mission. This one was carried out by two submarines bound for the west coast of the United States, their cargo a revolutionary new strain of biological virus. Neither sub made it to the designated target. But that does not mean they were lost.Someone knows about the subs and what they carried, knows too where they might be, and has an extraordinary plan for the prize inside - a plan that could reshape the world as we know it. All that stands in the way are three people: a marine biologist named Summer, a marine engineer named Dirk, and their father, Dirk Pitt, the new head of NUMA.

Pitt has faced devastating enemies before, has even teamed up with his children to track them down. But never has he looked upon the face of pure evil... until now.Filled with dazzling suspense and breathtaking action, Black Wind is Cussler at the height of his storytelling powers.

Cornier than James Bond …but

A great little story. The narration was sound ,but not a great one for voice difference. The story … omg so corny at times … the usual way a megalomaniac has flunkies who won’t kill you but leave you in a situation where you will meet a gruesome death … very James Bond … oh and those dreadful Americanised witty one liner replies .. reminded me of those awful American sitcoms full of … one line joke .. audience laugh , one line joke … audience laugh etc etc. having said that I did want to see how the world would be saved ( if it was of course no spoilers ) ..worth a listen definitely… but I won’t bother with a Cussler story again.

Typical Cussler Story

A classic performance. Scott’s narration started slowly but gained pace. I’m looking forward to the next story

A good story but drop the accents!

A good story but spoilt for me by the reader trying to speak character accents. An American trying to speak stiff upper lip English and Australian does not work. We know they are from those countries, just read out the words please!
This was my first read Dirk Pitt story and I loved it, just spoilt a bit by the above.
