Black Lion begins in rural South Africa where a deeply traumatic childhood experience - a cousin being dragged away by a crocodile - should have turned him against the surrounding wilderness. I appreciate this biography and enjoy Sicelo's account of his life, BUT where was the editor? Far too many repetitions occur which lessens the quality of the writing and its important message.
