Publisher's Summary

Former Army Ranger Kris Paronto, a survivor of the 2012 Benghazi siege that was subject of the book and movie 13 Hours, provides powerful motivational tools for surviving and thriving to bring discipline, motivation, success, and peace to listeners' lives.

Thousands of people have heard Kris "Tanto" Paronto speak about his experiences in Benghazi on September 11, 2012. But before he was a security contractor, Tanto was a US Army Ranger from Second Battalion 75th Ranger Regiment. Rangers are trained to lead by being pushed to their physical and mental limits so that they can perform against impossible odds in punishing situations. In The Ranger Way, Tanto shares stories from his training experiences that played a role in his team's heroic response in Benghazi. Being a Ranger is, by design, not for everyone, but anyone can use the expectations and techniques of Ranger culture to achieve personal victory.

In The Ranger Way, Tanto explains the importance of demanding excellence when you commit to improving your life. He shows you how to define your mission, set goals that are in alignment with your values, and develop a battle plan that will maximize your chances of success. You will learn why you should never quit and why that is different from never failing. Tanto uses his experiences in basic and Ranger training to explore how to deal with mistakes and disappointment like a leader, accept responsibility, and turn every obstacle into an opportunity for growth. You will learn why being of service to others and being willing to sacrifice will help you succeed and how the power of humility, strength, faith, and brotherhood will sustain you on the road to accomplishing your mission.

    "The Right Stuff"

Kris Paronto's message of team and mission above self isn't heard often enough and is perhaps the core principle of organizational success. His willingness to share his mistakes along with his strengths make the message and the author more real and believable.
The book will hold your attention, educate and inspire.

"The true spirit of a soldier"

Chris is able to share in a very vivid and sincere way the true emotions Soldiers experience while going through rigorous training; design to sharpen those natural abilities these brace men possess and that Ranger training will hone into sharp and precise fighting men.

It's hard not to sympathize with him through the passage of this book. The challenges he faced both on and off the field are brought to bare on center stage to a degree that he makes you feel like your right next to him.

His candor and humor throughout the book bring a refreshing spirit and context; which is felt during the various pages in this book. As a Veteran you will be able to relate and respect Chris' challenges and emotions which he faced during his time as a student at the Ranger School in Ft. Benign, Georgia.

    "DISAPPOINTING RANGER"
What did you like best about The Ranger Way? What did you like least?

This is less a story about a Ranger and the Ranger Creed then it is about an aimless kid who went from job to job, in the Army, out of the Army, and now is writing a book for his one brush with history. As a fellow Ranger I find it very disappointing.

Would you recommend The Ranger Way to your friends? Why or why not?

    No.

What three words best describe Kris Paronto’s performance?

    Awkward.

Was The Ranger Way worth the listening time?

As a long servicing Ranger I would have to say no. I mean, how long was he in the Rangers? What does he really know about long service. He was in and out of the Army seeking thrills and not what I would refer to as a dedicated member of the Ranger family--a distant cousin at best.

    "very inspiring story"

I wish this book had more about the attack on Benghazi and the events surrounding that evening, but it was still a very good story by an army ranger about the training and mind games that took place and how he used that training to overcome those thoughts and feelings and how to apply this in civilian life.

    "A Must Read !"

So much of life is about overcoming adversity. Kris "Tanto" Paronto is a Patriot and captivates so much of what I want my children to learn and become! The " truth" about Benghazi won't come from the media! This book is more than that, it's about sacrifice, loyalty, dedication and most of all love. Love for brotherhood. Love for values. Love for country! Thanks Tanto for your honesty, Loyalty and Service 🇺🇸🇺🇸🤘

Very well written, not only as an autobiography, but also as a guide to overcoming adversity, as only a veteran can tell it.
