Summary

Six weeks after my father passed away I discovered a lump in my breast. I was terrified as I embarked on the road of cancer treatment, but it's amazing what you can get used to. At the time I shared little with others beyond my close family, but today I'm ready to share my story to help other women have strength to go through treatment. You are much stronger than you think you are.

All money raised by the author from the sale of this audiobook will go towards yarn and materials for creating Knitted Knockers, special handmade breast prosthesis for women who have undergone mastectomies or other procedures to the breast.

"You are much stronger than you think you are."

Story:
A heartfelt and encouraging short biography, telling how the author discovered two lumps in her breast, and was diagnosed with breast cancer.
Open and honest, she talks of her fears and her treatment. The tough battle with chemo therapy and the side effects like the loss of hair and the constant sickness.

But the accout is also uplifting and encouraging, because the author discovers how you can get used to a lot of things and also, we are much stronger, than we think.
At the end, there's the important urge for every woman, to regularly check her own breasts, as not every lump is visible on mammography images.

Narration:
Fiona Thraille is one of my favourite narrators and again delivers a perfect job. Her voice is very pleasant and makes always for an easy listen.

Overall:
This is a short biography and I was doubtful, I would really gain much from listening to it.
But the truth is, in the end I found it much better, than endless drawn out pages. The book focuses on the main and important points and hits home much more clearly and therefore will stay with me for quite a while.
Also, the author's account is painfully honest and a lot of cancer patients will fully understand how she felt at the time.
Highly recommended.
