Summary

An intimate, funny and frank account of the moments behind the music, of the truth behind the headlines and of the fascinatingly complicated man behind the imperious entertainer, Reveal is Robbie Williams as you've never seen him before.

More than 12 years ago, Robbie Williams and Chris Heath published a groundbreaking memoir, Feel, about Robert P. Williams' rise to fame - a book that was met with worldwide acclaim from critics and fans alike.

Since that time Robbie has released six solo albums, reunited with his old band Take That and, in the wake of his 12th UK number-one album, returned to the stage with a sold-out run at Wembley Stadium.

In Reveal, best-selling author Chris Heath has been working closely with Robbie for many years to create a personal and raw account of fame, fortune, family and music - a vivid and detailed story of the real highs and lows as Robbie has found his way forward, that is unprecedented in its intimacy and honesty.

Long-awaited by millions, Reveal is the uncensored and compelling portrait of the man as you've never seen him before.

Open, honest and heart warming

I loved this book. I mostly listen to novels and put off this one even though it’s been on the list. I shouldn’t of because it’s the best thing I’ve listened to in ages. I am an unapologetic Robbie super-fan and proud of it, and I believe that Chris Heath conveys everything so nakedly and truthfully that this feels more like a brilliant fly on the wall docu drama and it really works. I was emotional and outraged learning of the negativity that Robbie deals with at times and I was also enthused and happy listening to the connection that comes through with Robbie and his wife Ada, who is clearly the best therapy Rob has ever had. There will always be haters, usually those who are spurred by jealousy and are pretty insensitive people, but there will also always be more of the people like me, who get this funny, eccentric, super talented legend. Rock on Robbie, this book is Awesome.

Narrator putting me off

I was looking forward to this book. The narrator mimics the accents of those mentioned in the book. I find this annoying although appreciate the effort. Would rather it was read in one accent. Am sticking with it although I’m not sure I will listen until the end.

self pity outstripped a promising start

I like Robbie. however the repetition of his self loathing got too much for me

Goes on and on and on...

Very open and genuine, however the way the book was put together is painfully long and boring

Gets confusing.

I just couldn't got on with this book. Usually I'm fine with stories or autobiographies bouncing to and for all over the place but with this book it just didn't make much sense to me. I got about half way through and just gave up.
Reader speaks same accent for everybody which to is confusing.
The book has had a lot of fab reviews so don't let me put you off reading it....this is just my personal view.
If you do go ahead and buy it I hope you have better understanding of all it than me and enjoy it.

Really enjoyable

I’m a big Robbie fan and also live near Stoke-on-Trent so had a bit of a local angle too. Really interesting insight into Robbie’s mind and life over a fairly wide expanse of time. I found the timelines a little hard to follow at times, but I think that’s just me!
Contrary to previous reviews I actually liked how the narrator did the various different voices and I think his Robbie voice is spot on!

read earlier Autobiographies

must read earlier Autobiographies for better context first. This book focuses on his later career and only has a chapter or two on takethat

Robbie Williams

If you love Robbie you will love this. As I have been a fan from the beginning I felt that I had lived it too. Listening to the book was great it was almost as if Robbie was in the room lol

Annoying

Throughout this I audio, I was constantly trying to work out who was more irritating - Williams or the author.
A totally egotistical book, about a man of a similar description. Why the general public find him so annoying is perfectly illustrated in these pages.
Would not recommend.

Deeeee presssss ING!

I’ve been a fan of Robbie for years but this was just too depressing. The voice artist is good at mimicking voices and tones so it’s not his fault, he sounds like Robbie, but the whole story is just poor me! 👎🏻
