Publisher's Summary

Available as an audiobook for the first time, read by band members "Fat Mike" Burkett, Eric Melvin, Erik "Smelly" Sandin, and Aaron "El Hefe" Abeyta along with special guest narrator musician and comedian Tommy Chong. In addition, the audiobook features exclusive, previously unreleased tracks, "Bouncy" (a NOFX instrumental), "La Pieta" (Fat Mike piano & vocal song about his mother), and "Young Drunk & Stupid" (live NOFX song from an Idaho basement gig in 1986)

NOFX: The Hepatitis Bathtub and Other Stories is the first tell-all autobiography from one of the world's most influential and controversial punk bands. Fans and non-fans alike will be shocked by the stories of murder, suicide, addiction, counterfeiting, riots, bondage, terminal illness, the Yakuza, and drinking pee. Told from the perspective of each of the band's members, this audiobook looks back at more than 30 years of comedy, tragedy, and completely inexplicable success.

    "Incredible"

Having been a huge fan of NOFX for many years, I was extremely excited to hear they were releasing an autobiographical style book.
It does not disappoint. it's so BRUTALLY honest and real, an unflinching account to all the ups and downs of this group of misfits. Listened to it in its entirety in 2 days and I am going for round 2!
Will shock you, move you and make you laugh. Highly recommended wether you're a fan or not!

    "Weirdly poignant"

As far as "rock memoirs" go, this one is brutally honest and often emotional. Each band member reads their own story (with the exception of Dave and Steve,) and you can hear them struggling to say some of the stories out loud (Melvin in particular). Not as funny as I expected, but somehow better

"A band I respected as much as liked."

I will start by saying a really like NOFX, they weren’t my favourite of their ilk, but they were the ones I’d stayed on a solid course with throughout, namely they released records throughout my knowing them and I liked them all. This book shows that they have obtained what they always wanted to be, a “big scene” band who do things their own way.

All 4 core members are so very different, but all likeable particularly so El Hefe (who has long been my favourite) and Smelly, who appears to now be absolutely loving the right life. Mike is a dirty old man with no filter and nothing but the truth to say and he is all the better for it, Melvin is still quiet but very likeable.

This is a main focus on 1983-2003, but it really is well worth a listen and I, having just finished it, am off to listen the to commentary version of First Ditch Effort, hunting for my fix like the moron brothers.

I've listened to approximately two NOFX songs in my lifetime...now I will listen to more. Funny, emotional, even cringeworthy. more bands should release on this sort of platform.

    "*%#!"

Deep, sad, funny, inspirational, scary, educational, insightful, disgusting, and one of the most addictive books I've listened to yet. If you are a fan of NOFX it is deeply satisfying to hear where they came from and what they've been through. Extremely well written and well spoken. Thanks for sharing guys! Love you! Glad you are all still alive and doing well.

    "Loved these stories"

Since the band (and a couple of friends) read the their own book, it was really engaging when they would tell the stories of the small happenings a events, that lead to NOFX as we know them. Being a fan of the band, this was a treat for me. But, if anything, the tales are fun, scary and put things into perspective with early punk culture. The guys putting out this book had to take courage and some long lost emotional stress. Several parts of this book I feel will stick with me for some time. Just because a few topics hit pretty close to home. A great book for anyone. ...maybe anyone.

"Liked it up to family death and butt plugs."

Lost me at butt plugs. Like I can hang for a bit, but it felt like the last 10% of the book was less about NOFX, and more about Mike's sexual lifestyle. Great book up until that point.

    "IT'S WORTH IT."

A great terrible story about some f**ked up folks with a passion. Dark humor with brutal reality which shaped these individuals. if you're sensitive about subjects of drug abuse, molestation, rape, weird fetishes; this may not be the book for you. The guys of NOFX are wonderful people that got handed a bad hand. But in the end they look like they are going into the right direction .

    "All the emotions!"

I laughed, I cried and mostly cringed at the disgusting truth. The book was great and already recommended it to several people. I was a fan of NOFX music but now I'm even more so now. I appreciate the raw unfiltered openness. I ripped through this one in a week. These guys have survived so much and did a great job telling their story. It started with piss drinking and ended with piss. Well done!

    "So much rock."

Holy cow. I grew up listening to punk rock and this book filled me up with nostalgia. It was amazing to hear the origin story of one of my favorite bands and go through their trials and tribulations, as told by them. This sucker made me laugh, go slack jawed, and tear up. Even if you're not a NOFX fan, this book is good. It's just a good ol American dream story without all the myths and bullshit. I gained a new level of respect for these guys through this book. I feel like I know them personally just from reading it. Best memoir I have ever read.
