Summary

Available as an audiobook for the first time, read by band members "Fat Mike" Burkett, Eric Melvin, Erik "Smelly" Sandin, and Aaron "El Hefe" Abeyta along with special guest narrator musician and comedian Tommy Chong. In addition, the audiobook features exclusive, previously unreleased tracks, "Bouncy" (a NOFX instrumental), "La Pieta" (Fat Mike piano & vocal song about his mother), and "Young Drunk & Stupid" (live NOFX song from an Idaho basement gig in 1986)

NOFX: The Hepatitis Bathtub and Other Stories is the first tell-all autobiography from one of the world's most influential and controversial punk bands. Fans and non-fans alike will be shocked by the stories of murder, suicide, addiction, counterfeiting, riots, bondage, terminal illness, the Yakuza, and drinking pee. Told from the perspective of each of the band's members, this audiobook looks back at more than 30 years of comedy, tragedy, and completely inexplicable success.

Incredible

Having been a huge fan of NOFX for many years, I was extremely excited to hear they were releasing an autobiographical style book.
It does not disappoint. it's so BRUTALLY honest and real, an unflinching account to all the ups and downs of this group of misfits. Listened to it in its entirety in 2 days and I am going for round 2!
Will shock you, move you and make you laugh. Highly recommended wether you're a fan or not!

Nice guys, drugs and BDSM: As punk rock as it gets

I started listening to this for research for one of my university assignments and I knew nothing about NOFX apart from their name. As it progressed, however, I was so engaged with the narration and the band members' ups and downs that it made my research a helluva a lot more interesting and fun than most autobiographical stuff. However, it get a little corny when Mike sings an interlude about killing his mother, with accompanying piano. Also, perhaps a bit too revealing when Mike follows this up with talking about his sexual escapades with a dominatrix but this a book by one of the biggest punk bands of the 90s so it's not exactly sunshine and rainbows. Gunk and sweat, maybe?

The book is read by Mike, Eric, Melvin and Hefe, with Tommy Chong guest-reading for Dave's chapters. Regardless, this book is relentless and unforgiving. A must-read for the punk rockers out there.

Nofx- audiobook punk af

If you are a fan of the band this is an essential listen. The audiobook is very well produced and engaging. Nofx are punk as fuck and care about their fans so its as much a preformance as it is a book. Really a gift. The rawness and truth in the storytelling also offers an authentic insight into the west coast punk scene in the 90s. Its unashamedly anecdotal and very intimate. Perfect combination of diy heart and high quality production. Even if you’ve read the book in print, listening to the audiobook is probably even better and feels like how it was intended to be consumed. xx acab

Weirdly poignant

As far as "rock memoirs" go, this one is brutally honest and often emotional. Each band member reads their own story (with the exception of Dave and Steve,) and you can hear them struggling to say some of the stories out loud (Melvin in particular). Not as funny as I expected, but somehow better

Deep, sad, funny, inspirational, scary, educational, insightful, disgusting, and one of the most addictive books I've listened to yet. If you are a fan of NOFX it is deeply satisfying to hear where they came from and what they've been through. Extremely well written and well spoken. Thanks for sharing guys! Love you! Glad you are all still alive and doing well.

Loved these stories

Since the band (and a couple of friends) read the their own book, it was really engaging when they would tell the stories of the small happenings a events, that lead to NOFX as we know them. Being a fan of the band, this was a treat for me. But, if anything, the tales are fun, scary and put things into perspective with early punk culture. The guys putting out this book had to take courage and some long lost emotional stress. Several parts of this book I feel will stick with me for some time. Just because a few topics hit pretty close to home. A great book for anyone. ...maybe anyone.

Liked it up to family death and butt plugs.

Lost me at butt plugs. Like I can hang for a bit, but it felt like the last 10% of the book was less about NOFX, and more about Mike's sexual lifestyle. Great book up until that point.

It's like Eric Melvin touched my souls, Smelly Almost brought me to tears, El Jefe made think about my own Mexican family growing up and fat Mike mad me laugh and think about my own vices.
