Summary

Danny Wallace was bored. Just to see what would happen, he placed a whimsical ad in a local London paper. It said, simply, 'Join Me'. Within a month, he was receiving letters and emails from teachers, mechanics, sales reps, vicars, schoolchildren and pensioners - all pledging allegiance to his cause. But no one knew what his cause was. Soon he was proclaimed Leader. Increasingly obsessed and possibly power-crazed Danny risked losing his sanity and his loyal girlfriend. But who could deny the attraction of a global following of devoted joinees?

A book about dreams, ambition, and the responsibility that comes with power, Join Me is the true story of a man who created a cult by accident, and is proof that whilst some men were born to lead, others really haven't got a clue.

Makes me want to start my own stupid boy project.

An interesting memoir from Shaun Hastings pre Animus Project. If you are familiar with Dave Gormans earlier work you will find much to enjoy with this.

Brilliantly entertaining

Wallace has a great way of looking at the world, of making up and working to complete odd challenges with, ultimately, good results. This is not the first time I have been taken on a wild journey by his creative mind. A great book for all the wanna be do gooders without direction! Creative, funny and heart warming. Read the book and join him - I am sure you won't regret feeling good every week.

Abridged version

Danny did a great job narrating this wonderful story. It does miss out some fun parts from the book though- his visit to Gareth, his trip to Holland, his holiday etc. It's not a full version of the book.

Not interesting

I kind of didn't see the point of the book. Like no plot and its not even funny. I expected something different very disappointed

Danny Wallace is a genius...

I first read Join Me years ago just after I'd discovered the brilliant Yes Man. It remains one of my favourite books and now I have it read to me at my own convenience in the car by Danny himself...life is good!!
