Costruito come un percorso attraverso la memoria (di persone, fatti e luoghi) "Camerata Neandertal" è forse il romanzo più dolente e personale di Antonio Pennacchi. Un libro popolato da fantasmi: da Ajmone Finestra - il Federale di Latina, motore delle vicende narrate in "Palude" e nel "Fasciocomunista" agli operai che di "Palude" decisero lo svolgimento; da Carlo Alberto Blanc, paleontologo, la cui ossessione e curiosità divengono le stesse dell'autore nelle "Iene del Circeo", ad Aldo Dapelo padrone della Fulgorcavi narrata in "Mammut", fino al fratello Gianni, che considerava suo "Canale Mussolini" ma morì senza riuscire a leggerlo. Attraverso i suoi personaggi Pennacchi racconta in realtà sé stesso e la propria formazione come uomo, come intellettuale dal basso e come scrittore.

Un romanzo autobiografico dove realtà e finzione si intrecciano e si fondono, coinvolgendo il lettore in un viaggio, spesso esilarante, fra letteratura e vita.

Pennacchi al meglio della sua arte .

Libro delizioso , profondo e comico. Profondamente legato al suo territorio ed agli uomini e donne che lo hanno creato ma che l’autore ne denuncia il decadimento dei tempi e uomini di oggi.Bellissima la lettura ed interpretazione di Albero Rossatti.
