Publisher's Summary

Justin Roberts always dreamed of being a ring announcer at World Wrestling Entertainment. From playing with action figures of the Ultimate Warrior, the Heartbreak Kid Shawn Michaels, Bret Hitman Hart and Hulk Hogan to actually announcing these larger-than-life characters to the ring, Roberts lived out the dream of countless, passionate wrestling fans worldwide.

Best Seat in the House is the inspirational story of Roberts' ambitious journey to becoming a full-time ring announcer at WWE, performing all over the world and announcing weekly live events, TV shows, and the enormously popular pay-per-view spectaculars for more than a decade.

In addition to announcing the top wrestlers in sports entertainment from Nature Boy Ric Flair, Rowdy Roddy Piper, Sgt. Slaughter, King Kong Bundy, and the Iron Sheik to Dwayne the Rock Johnson, Stone Cold Steve Austin, John Cena, Brock Lesnar, CM Punk, Chris Jericho, and the Undertaker, Roberts also relives entertaining and candid moments with his real-life superhero coworkers, workplace politics, grueling travel schedules, harsh requirements of WWE talent, and the overall merciless treatment from the higher-ups whose decisions can affect nearly the entire wrestling industry.

This book is the all-access backstage pass for those who have always wondered what it would be like to work at WWE under the infamous Vince McMahon and travel all over the world in cars, buses, and planes with the biggest stars of professional wrestling.

Justin Roberts pulls no punches and gives you an uncensored, raw look at the journey of a young man chasing, catching, and living his dream.

"Well worth a listen, brilliant book."

I was a fan of WWE as a child, this bought back so many memories. Not only that it was a fantastic insight into the business, from an angle that is very under represented. Really interesting, touching, inspiring. Couldn't put it down and would recommend to anyone.

A real insight into the workings of WWE and some of the personalities in it nail hit on the head when it's stressed that a wrestling company that promotes anti bullying has bully's working there. Will definitely read again

Loved this book. Such an interesting and amazing story from someone deep within the business. Highs lows and everything in between. This story could be made into a movie!! Highly recommend to anyone to read Justin's story. You don't have to be a fan of wrestling to enjoy this book.

    "Poorly edited!"

The narrator makes countless mistakes whilst reading out loud, which in itself is understandable.
However the audible content has been so poorly edited together that when a mistake is made the narrator just repeats the entire sentence.
It ruins the audible book experience completely.

"Honest book detailing the life of a WWE performer"

Been waiting for the audio version of this book since I first heard about it on the Pro Wrestling Torch. Justin offers some great insider insight to the world of WWE. He pulls no punches for those he was mistreated by, and he is very open about those who helped him in his career.

The book is one of my favorite wrestling books, but there is an element of sour grapes that taints story to some degree. I believe what he says has happened but there seems to almost be the element of "I believe you, but want to hear what the other side has to say about this too", but we don't get that here obviously.

The only other minor gripe I had was the lack of editing before the audio book was published. The book is littered with instances where a line is repeated or corrected without editing out the flubbed line. If you can get past that and have a thirst for what WWE is like behind the scenes, you'll probably enjoy this book a great deal.

    "Editing?"

It's someone reading but zero editing was done so he starts over several times, clears his throat, just terrible. Decent story but zero effort into the quality of the audiobook.

    "Awesome Book!"
Where does Best Seat in the House rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It is so far the best audiobook I have listened to by far. Of course I am biased because I am a big wrestling fan and this definitely gave the fans an inside look into the business.

Who was your favorite character and why?

This was an autobiography so Justin of Course.

What does Justin Roberts bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

With Justin narrating the book himself, I was able to hear and feel the ups and downs of what he was going through trying to make it in the wrestling business from his perspective. Listening to him read his story from front to back is just as good as if it were presented in tv format.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

You think you know but you have no idea.. The Justin Roberts story

    Any additional comments?

I would recommend any wrestling fan check this out. This audiobook gives an inside look into the early life and wrestling announcing career of Justin Roberts. I didnt know much about him before this but can appreciate the struggle and the come up after reading this. WWE did him wrong and its good to hear his side of the story. It was a fair and candid look into the inner workings of the business and the people behind the crap that goes on behind the scenes. By the way, why isnt JBL fired yet after so many complaints of bullying by multiple people?

"Great story. Great listen. Horrible Edit"

Story is very good and having Justin himself tell it is a perk. Only bad thing is the editing, A LOT of the lines were repeated that should have been edited off

Justin did a great job reading and writing this book, but I was taken out of the moment so many times bc it hasn't been edited yet.

Please edit out the paper shuffling and multiple repeated lines to make this book 5 stars.

    "Hard Listen, Terrible Editing"
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Maybe to read, but not to listen. Seemed like every occurrence of a flubbed line was left in, with the narrator, Justin, just starting over. At some points you even hear page turning. I wasn't of fan of his announcer voice being used for certain parts either.

What other book might you compare Best Seat in the House to and why?

    Other Wrestling books.

Would you be willing to try another one of Justin Roberts’s performances?

    Probably not.

Was Best Seat in the House worth the listening time?

I enjoyed the story for the most part.

    Any additional comments?

I think if the audio books gets edited properly, it would be a lot better. Great insight on inner workings of WWE productions though.
