Summary
He's a billionaire...and a rake.
Yes, I know it's not the 1800s. I'm just a bit obsessed with historical romance, that's all. And books in general, which is why I'm on my way to interview for my dream job at the library when Adrian Westfield's sheep-like hound knocks me over and into the mud. So I'm late, dirty, and completely flub my interview—only to get the offer of my life.
To win custody of his baby daughter, Adrian Westfield wants to make me his fake wife.

Love this story!
Misha Bell is a master at quirky characters and spot on humor sure to make me laugh and fall in love. This book is so much fun and had me laughing out loud! Adrian's dog runs Jane over, and the result is an idea that could go so wrong! Adrian needs to get married to help with his custodial case for his daughter. In return, Jane will be set monetarily for life. Neither thought anything would ever come of it, when Jane seamlessly fits into his life and then asks him for something no one else has ever given her, all bets were off. Eventually. This close proximity, single dad romance is the best of all worlds. The comedy is hysterical, both Jane and Adrian are a bit awkward and the baby, who can resist her? And we cannot forget the dog! I was completely immersed in their fake romance and absolutely loved the outcome.
And making it even better is the narration team of Erin Mallon and Lance Greenfield. Mallon always brings her "A" game and she is so good at Bell's characters. Spot on comedic timing with a complete understanding of all the quirks Jane has, Mallon nails her personality. Greenfield comes in as the aloof billionaire, and easily turns him from distant to loving and complete mush when it comes to the baby. This team is spectacular and a pleasure to listen to.

Super cute!
Really a cute story, but not at all steamy. I enjoyed it nonetheless. The narration is first rate, of course.

A Home Run
I am going start with say that Misha Bell is definitely an author who's books should be savored like your favorite bag of candy or your favorite TV series. You love everything about them, except when they come to an end or run out. That is exactly how I felt about every single one of her books. She is one of my favorite writers along with Rich Amooi, Whitney Dineen, Anna Zaires, & Dima Zales just to name a few awesome writers in the same genre that always hit the ball right out of the park into a car's window.
This book is no exception & it was another home run. There were some curve balls that I wasn't expecting but bam they smacked you a good one in the face. (No there wasn't any baseball in this book. Just really good baseball analogies to describe the book journey.) I didn't want finish this book because well in this case, I was enjoying it way too much.
The characters were funny. The male lead was all over the place, yet he still had his eyes on the ball, & knew what mattered the most to him. I love that the writers kept everything fun without truly having any hardcore evil villains but kept everyone loveable for the most part.
The narrators gave a good performance & kept the audience entertained, & they were a good choice for the book.

Fun and steamy
This was such a fun romantic comedy! These narrators did a wonderful job! I absolutely LOVED listening to them bring life to these wildly fun characters! This was a true laugh out loud story with all the inner voices and Yoda making his presence known. There were some real issues for this couple as well and a nice little twist I never saw coming.

Another Great Book By Misha Bell
I loved this quirky story! I especially loved how it was narrated from both sides, providing a better insight to the minds of both characters. I definitely did not see that twist coming! Erin Mallon always is a great choice for Misha's female leads, but I personally did not feel Lance Greenfield's was the right fit for the male lead. As handsome as Misha described Adrian to be, I expected a more sensual male voice.

Entertaining
After Adrian's dog runs Jane dog it begins their journey to an unusual arrangement. It is entertaining but he is really out to be a part of his daughter's life. The narrating was good, I have only listened to Lance a couple of times and it was not in Rom-Com setting. So this was different but it did a good job.

Talking Dog?
No, no , no. A male grown adult narrating his dog is NOT attractive. Hard pass here folks!

Super cute!
This was a super cute story between a historical romance lover heroine seeking a librarian job to incorporate her love of historical romance into her job and daily life. And a very, rich and very, smart hero who all he wants is to have more time with his newborn and is willing to do anything to gain 50/50 custody of his daughter. He's a reformed rake, but he comes off so much more gentlemanly than rakish. These two fit so well together that you can't help but cheer them on and hope that their fake marriage will turn into more. So sweet!
