Summary
International Best Seller
If you want to get bigger, leaner, and stronger without steroids, good genetics, extreme dieting, or wasting ridiculous amounts of time in the gym...you want to listen to this book.
Because here’s the deal: Building lean muscle and burning stubborn fat isn't nearly as complicated you’ve been led to believe.
This book is the shortcut.
And guess what?
- You don't need to: Spend hundreds of dollars per month on the worthless supplements that steroid-fueled bodybuilders "swear by." Most pills, powders, and potions do absolutely nothing.
- You don't need to: Constantly change up your workout routine to gain lean muscle in all the right places. Muscle building is much simpler than that.
- You don't need to: Waste a couple of hours in the gym every day grinding through grueling workouts you hate. In fact, this is a great way to get nowhere.
- You don't need to: Slog away at boring cardio to shed ugly belly fat and get a six-pack. In fact, you probably don't have to do any cardio to get the body you really want.
- You don't need to: Obsess over "clean eating" and avoiding "unhealthy" foods to get ripped. Instead, you can get and stay fit eating the foods you love.
Those are just a few of the harmful lies and myths that keep guys from ever achieving the lean, muscular, and strong body they truly desire.
And in this book you’ll learn something most guys will never know:
The exact methods of eating and exercising for gaining 10 to 15 pounds of lean muscle like clockwork...and it only takes a few months.
The bottom line is you can get that "Hollywood hunk" body without following a boring, bland "bodybuilder" diet or living in the gym.
This book shows you how.
So, click the “buy” button now, and begin your journey to a bigger, leaner, and stronger you.

Is he a robot!
I had to listen to this speeded up. I don’t know if the reader is doing a Stephen Hawkin impression or if he hasn’t read a book before but it’s painful to listen to.

Buy the actual book, or something else
Some decent content - particularly on the nutrition and supplement advice (albeit all subjective).
However, the training section doesn’t work as an audiobook - at all. You would need to sit and write down as the narrator drones through the sets and reps....
I’m an experienced trainer, I took some bits from this book but overall think that beginners would find this book most valuable (in hard copy).

Excellent
I thought I knew a lot about training for size but this book blew me away. Very detailed yet very simple to understand on both training and exercise. Excellent book for new starters through to advanced.

Far too cheesy
Listening as a British person I couldn't get on with the cheesy salesman style narration. I've already bought the book, no need to try and sell it to me for the first few chapters. More focus on the subject and less of how great the book and author are would have made it more palatable. It was at least chapter 7 before any useful information came along.

Good content but hard to listen to narrator/author
I have various books a s audible books on health, fitness and inspirational story's. From reading the review for this (both for the book and the audible book) I thought this would be a good listen.
I stick with it for several chapters but it was hard, I asked Alexa to speed up the narration however I maxed this out but the content still was pretty slow. I am really not sure why Michael (natrator/author) takes so....much....time.....to...speak....between....each....word. It makes listening to him very taxing, I think with a different narrator this would be excellent. I have checked Micheal out on Instagram where he is constantly making videos, although he speech is similarly it is not as slow as the narration on this book, I appreciate it is important to be clear and concise......but man he over does this.
So for the content, it is really good. it starts off with the basics and builds from that. if your not totally oblivious to the fundamentals of nutrition then a lot of this will be reinforcing what you already know however I liked this foundation.
Not sure why he insists on summarising each section by pretty much repeating what we heard 5 minutes a go, o appreciate that it is a learning technique but gets tideous if you listening to the book for longer that 20 min sessions and feels like the book is being bulked out.
it also does not help that he trys to plug his other books at various points.
I ended up returning the audible book however I will be purchasing the book as I feel the content for this book at least is better in a bookn a book I can image it is not too bad has

Mostly filler, repeatitive, takes an age to cover the most basic of concepts. Constantly refers to the authors other books and websites.

Don't start from the beginning!
Do yourself a favour, start this book at chapter 15. The 14 previous chapters are mostly useful on your second listen, but dry and painfully boring on your first go! Some of them can be skipped entirely, for example, the first chapter is 10 minutes of the author reading out quotes from z list celebrities and businessmen about the book in a monotone drone. Seriously, the author is a brilliant nutritionalist, but opening his book with this garbage is... I don't know what he was thinking.

Fantastic.
I now own 6 of his books over various formats (Kindle, Audible and Paperback). I own the first edition of BLS on paperback but wanted to get the updated version after seeing what he had to say on YouTube about the changes between them. I was pretty lucky because I forgot I had a few credits on here, which saved me picking it up next week. I haven't finished it yet (have about 8 hours left) but already it'll be worth picking it up on Kindle so I can read it too. I like that it emphasises psychological pitfalls and how to either overcome or avoid them entirely. I can't wait to get more into the nutrition as it was great in the 1st edition but I could always learn more 😄 I absolutely recommend Mike Matthews, his books, his YouTube podcasts, his website (muscleforlife) and his scientifically backed supplements (Legion Supplements). Check him out and you won't regret it!
