Summary

Bhagavad Gita is one of the most sacred books of India. It is a part of the great epic Mahabharata and contains 700 verses. They were uttered by the Supreme Lord Himself at the start of Mahabharata War, when Arjuna did not want to indulge in war seeing all his relatives standing in the enemy army.

Nice, small chunks of the stories of Krishna

Easily digestible and not just for kids. Also good for total beginners who want to know the basics of the Baghavad Gita and the mythology of Krishna.

One criticism (from a total beginner)…I was hoping for a bit more explaining about the morals or the stories and the lessons that Krishna teaches and wants us to know. Most of this was the simple story, without any underlying lesson or meaning being explained.

As I say, I am very new to Hinduism and maybe I’m being a little harsh and expecting what I shouldn’t.

Fantastic reading in English, love it 10/10 A+++

Best rendition, well read, easy to listen to and understand. Such an important and ancient text which has been well respected by the writers and narrator

Nice short stories

Nice stories of Krishna but Gita itself is not accurate and misses some of the important points. It has also used certain words which a child would it difficult to understand.

A lot to take in

I’m a total beginner so figured the kids version would be ideal before I hit some Ram Dass. We’ll this is pretty full on but I guess gives the story. There are so many characters and factions it was hard to keep up. I’m hoping this will still help when I read Ram soon.
