What does it take to be a successful property investor? How can you start with nothing but a very ordinary level of savings and amass a portfolio that means you'll never need to work for anyone else again?
Beyond the Bricks is a window into the lives of nine UK-based investors who've done exactly that. Through long-form interviews with them, we learn exactly how they did it, what their lives are like now, and what they recommend to anyone just starting out.
Of course, "success" is a relative term. During the book you'll meet people ranging from Mark, who amassed a portfolio worth millions, to Serena, whose few houses saved her family from financial ruin. And along the way you'll meet Kim, who was unstoppable prior to the credit crunch, nearly lost everything, and found an innovative way to stay afloat.
The day-to-day life of a property investor isn't necessarily what you'd expect either. Fast cars and exotic holidays are represented...but so, too, are sprinting in pursuit of rent checks, puttering around in a dressing gown all day, and helping a tenant with cancer by driving her to hospital appointments.
This book is less of a "how to" than a "how you could". It won't give you one formula for success but many practical ideas and inspiring examples that you can use to craft your own property-investing story.
With all jargon clearly explained, this book will be an educational and entertaining listen for those who are yet to get started as well as a rich source of new ideas for more-experienced investors.

Excellent property audio book
Excellent book. Some really good case studies of UK based property investors at the top of their game. Plenty of great ideas, philosophies and insight. Very easy to follow and understand. I highly recommend this book

Some useful nuggets...
I enjoyed the audio and would recommend for a newbie. However my only reservation is how these people made their money may not be so relevant to today's market. this was when getting a mortgage was easy. However I picked up some useful nuggets which I will apply to my property journey. thanks

Inspirational
Unlike other property books which are more instructional (and still very valuable in their own right) this book is the inspiration that might just finally give me the kick up the backside to act! Well done Rob, fantastic effort as always, thank you

Interesting Listen

a great read and very inspiring
I've been learning from Rob and have all 3 of his books . there are a lot of property gurus out there but Rob is right up there with the best. this book takes youn throuh real life stories of investors and acts as a great window into their world . a must read. Ru

Genuine and inspiring
I purchased this after listening to one of Rob's other books on Audible and found this to be every bit as good. I love the fact that Rob narrates his own books (books read by actors just don't sound right) and his realistic and down to earth approach to teaching others about property investing.

Down to earth
I have read a lot of property books. Probably Rob Dix is one of my favourites with its down to earth and no nonsense approach. This one is very interesting read to see big or small landlords take on the business
