Most relevant
Some stories feel more like filler than others, while others feel relevant to future plot lines without making themselves essential. It’s a nice dose of nostalgia for readers of the series. An excuse to revisit familiar characters and see what they got up to after their “happily ever after”.

It’s also nice to see stories told from the perspective of some of the side characters that we never really got to see from their perspective before.

Emma and Julian’s story was my personal favourite - it has all the action and stakes that many of the others seemed to lack.

Although one thing I did like was how distinct each of the stories felt, in terms of tone and narrative.

If you’re a fan of Cassandra Clare, this is a wonderful romp down memory lane with all your favourite characters. It’s also a nice refresher on current goings-on as it’s sometimes easy to forget what era you’re currently in depending on what books by CC you’re currently reading!
