Summary

Alex is a game developer, though he'd much rather stream RPG classics or spend time with Louie. That's his adorable corgi. He also hates people. Not in a homicidal way but rather in an extremely antisocial one.

Unless you hurt Louie. In such an instant, Alex is pulled into the Apocosmos, where our whole world is just a blip in a colorful tapestry of a million others. A multiverse ruled by a strict system. Where Norse, Greek, and Celtic pantheons clash. Where dwarves craft, dragons hoard, and vampires don't glitter. A world that is as cruel as epic.

Alex wants none of that though. He just wants to earn an early retirement somewhere in Spain. There's money to be made in the Apocosmos. Alex will take advantage of the market just like he did in his MMORPG days, in what seems like an error-proof plan.

But it's a zero-sum game, and some people would do anything to eliminate competition.

Meh

Honestly, the supporting characters are the Only reason to read/listen to this. The MC is so overbearingly awful it ruins it, and the flash forwards do not help.

Not the worst I have heard, but I cannot recommend it. Narrator did great though, was easy to distinguish between the characters based on voice alone.

I could start from a promising author

Is we are showing flashbacks of what started his trip into the nightmare he is in Has past struggles of his lifeNo real set up for the next bookAnd and that's a bit rushed but overall it has some strong possibilities

For Louie

I really enjoyed this book. it has great characters, fights and puns! The book starts off a bit slow but quickly picks up speed. I'd recommend it.

Loved it

Came for the corgi, stayed for the adventure. I happened to thoroughly enjoy this book and the narrator kept the pacing going. The time flew buy and I found myself immersed in a world filled with wonder. really excited to get into book two and I want it now.

Awesome Start To A Series

Wow, love the start to this series. If you’re a LitRPG fan or a lover of Corgis this book series is for you! Was a little annoyed in the beginning that Alex (the protagonist) was rejecting the new world he found himself in but the dynamics of having his pet become intelligent and able to speak to him and want to do human things like play video games kept me laughing until the book got going and the carnage began. Also perfect narration done by Christian no over the top or annoying voices that sometimes narrators tend to do that only take away from the story. Overall this book is one I would recommend over and over to people who read this genre. Can’t wait for the next one!

MC is just awful

Our MC is an a**hole, which would be OK if he showed personal growth as the story progresses, but he doesn't. He just wallows in self-pity and acts aggressively towards anyone that shows him kindness. I have no interest in his fate.
