I really came to care about the characters. Lots of twists and turns. A great story.

Great story, well written.

I enjoyed the plot and once it eventually got going (I’d say in the last quarter) it was pretty good.
The build up was quite repetitive and not a lot took place in the first half of the book besides the initial plot layout.
But overall I could see myself reading it again in the future.

Takes a while to get going

Started thinking that this story might not be for me but ended up totally involved .

The gentle building of the story

A truly lovely story that became more and more engrossing as the book progressed.

The narrator was excellent and helped in making the audio book extremely enjoyable.

Lovely story.

The story is excellent and easy to follow (I'm old) with a few unbelievable moments, but it's fiction, so I can go with that.
The main problem was the narration. The Irish parts were wonderful and easy to listen to, Deirdre has a lovely voice, but when she was speaking a mans part, she did it by shouting and sounding angry! I was constantly turning the volume up or down. Accents other than Irish were excruciating to listen to too.
Overall, well worth a listen.

Could have been so much better.
