When Claire returns to her hometown after her mother's death, she finds herself drawn back to the maple tree bench where they spent their last moments together. Grief has hollowed her out, leaving her unsure of how to move forward—or if she even wants to.
But Maple Street has a way of pulling people back into life.
There's Evie, the irreverent artist with silver hair and a sketchbook full of secrets. Sophie, Evie's granddaughter, who collects painted stones and asks questions that cut straight to the heart. Tom, the carpenter who fixes broken things—including hearts—with quiet patience. And the bench itself, weathered and waiting, a silent witness to loss and new beginnings.
Through small kindnesses, shared silences, and the gradual thaw of a long winter, Claire begins to discover that healing doesn't mean forgetting. It means learning to live with the loss. To find hope in unexpected places. To choose, one small moment at a time, to stay.
Bench by Maple Street is a tender, lyrical story about grief, connection, and the courage it takes to open your heart again. Perfect for listeners who love gentle emotional journeys, found families, and the quiet beauty of small-town life.
