Way better than Book 1

After the first book did not fully meet my expectations I was positively surprised by this one. The story was good, the case was thrilling. Although I was sure several times that I already know who the perpetrator is, it then always left me wonderung again whether I may be wrong. Towards the end there was a twist in the plot that I did not like and that was rather far-fetched, but overall it was a good story. I will listen to the next part!

Excellent sequel

This was a really good sequel to Out of the Shadows! Amy and Lira are now married and still working together, respectively as a police detective and a pathologist. Similarities between the murders of two families make them worry about a new serial killer. And like in the first book in the series, they end up personally involved in the killer’s obsession. I figured pretty early on what where the story was going but it didn’t matter at all. I really enjoyed the way the author got there, the way it developed. Amy and Lira are great characters, very relatable. As for the first book, the narrator did a great job with the dialogues, despite the narration being a bit jerky at times. I was given this audiobook by the author in exchange for an honest review.

Love a good sequel!

I am a big fan of a murder mystery and wasn't disappointed with this. Having read the books already, I knew what I was getting and thoroughly enjoyed the latest story from Michelle Arnolds Amy Sadler series. Give it a go, I don't think you will be disappointed either.

Great Story and Narration!

"I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review." I was so pleasantly surprised with this book. It was really suspenseful and had an enormous twist that was unique. It’s also great that the author developed her characters so thoroughly. Just a fun story to listen to. I’ll definitely be looking at her other books, and recommend them to others. Narration was perfect in my opinion, her voice suited the story and characters quite well. Sound quality was excellent.

A very good sequel

In this sequel Amy and Lira have gotten married and are settling into their new lives together, when a seeming new killer arises that is targeting families, and Amy begins receiving threats from within the PD about her marriage to Lira. With the multiple storylines running together as well as the continual development of the core cast this book flows very well and is continually entertaining from start to finish. The narration by Lisa L Wiley is once again very good, and she succeeds greatly when inhabiting Amy and Lira and their interactions. This book I thought improved the intertwining of the case and the character development and relationship building. The case was always entertaining and the journey to catch the killer was suspenseful and engrossing. The two lead characters are as enchanting and enjoyable to spend time with as the first go around and with a plot more tightly wound throughout the book, I thought this was a great sequel. I look forward to checking out whatever comes next from Michelle Arnold. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Are there more books coming in this series???

Although I haven't heard the first book this worked well as a standalone. The characters were unique and different than I typically encounter in my reading. their personalities were well developed and engaging. The plot was engrossing. This novel was paced in a way that I was grabbed from the first words. I listened to the entire novel in one sitting. It was a rewarding 5 1/2 hours. Michelle Arnold can spin great story. I also appreciate the strength of the love and commitment shared in this piece. It was also refreshing to have the issue of family expressed so well.
