Theirs was a love story for the ages: Rasabel, the captain of the guard living a life devoted to duty and honor. And Isolde, the woman of the territory hungry for more than society's requirements of a lady.

In a world of swords and arrows, love was indefensible against obsession, lust and a cruel curse. For years, they searched for an end to their torment. When the alarm bells of Acadia ring, Rasabel goes home, but she is unwelcome. Determined to seek revenge her path collides with Bylyn, a young thief on the run from the executioner's axe. Their meeting entangles their lives forever. Can Rasabel and Isolde find hope in the hands of a girl who will do anything to keep her freedom?

Powerful women lead this cast of characters on a journey toward Happily Ever After. Enjoy this historical romance loaded with passion, obsession, lies and betrayal in a time of sword fights and fated love. Behind the Eyes is the sapphic LadyHawke retelling you've thirsted for.

This was a great retelling of Ladyhawke. Lots of action, great characters and putting great wrongs right. Add that to a love story and you can’t help but enjoy this book.

I just finished listening to Behind the Eyes by Sharon K. Angelici, and it was such a captivating experience. The story sweeps you into a medieval world of magic and longing, and the pacing felt fastspeed—I was pulled along effortlessly, never wanting to pause. The audiobook is deeply emotional, balancing heartache with hope, and every moment between the characters felt authentic and intense. It’s beautifully well written, with prose that paints vivid imagery and dialogue that lingers long after the chapter ends. Jessie Elwyn delivers great narration, breathing life into Rasabel, Isolde, and Bylyn, and making the tension and tenderness resonate even more. As a sapphic romance, it shines with both passion and vulnerability, offering a refreshing take on love that defies curses and expectations. The fantasy elements are rich but never overwhelming, perfectly complementing the romance at the heart of the story. Fans of the film LadyHawk will recognize the inspiration, but this retelling transforms it into something uniquely powerful and unforgettable

This is a fantastic beautiful emotional journey of finding love, a beautiful love that is sadly wrapped in a heart breaking curse. A terrible curse that is cast by a monster who pretends to be good! 👹

An ‘Excellent’ audiobook, I enjoyed every minute of it! J.E. Did a top notch job, the narration gave life to the characters. The characters were easy to ‘visualise’, Isolde’s voice was especially a mirror of her descriptive beauty. Overall a lovely listen!
