Chase

I had a brief glimpse of what it would be like to have it all. Then in a blink of an eye, it goes up in smoke. Once again, Easton has disappeared without a trace. Because he finally wised up and realized he's too good for me or was it something more sinister? It was hard enough losing him the first time, but that was before I fell head over heels in love with him. Now how am I supposed to breathe without knowing if he's okay or not? What if I never get the chance to tell him how I feel about him?

Easton

I ruined everything. My brother is shattered by what I did, Chase can't even look at me. Worse, I know my escape is temporary. He will find me again. It's only a matter of when. After all I've been through, all I want is to crawl into the comforting arms of my boyfriend and try to forget the horrors I've endured. But that's not possible now. He won't forgive me for this. And why should he? It's not like I have anything to offer. Not anymore.

Contains mature themes.

I was really looking forward to this book after the first one, but it left me a bit indifferent. Plot was dragged out and lots of rehash of first book. It was ok as a background listen, but I wouldnt go mad for it.

ok, but first book was better

I am so glad I took a chance on the first book and went in blind. I don't think if I had realised there were trigger warnings I would of pressed play. Luckily for me the first book popped up in my recommended list on 20th July, so I didn't have to wait at all to immediately click into book 2 the next day. There was no way I was sleeping after the first books cliffhanger.

This was an amazing journey to go on. Some really tough topics that were handled with care and not used as shock tactics, had me really impressed and zoned in. I'm AuDHD so I can visualise most books if they hook me in. These 2 books definitely took hold of me, and it was like listening/watching a full drama play out. I cried, I laughed, my heart broke, laughed some more and cried some more. Beautifully written and performed well by the narrators.

I recommend these books highly and to go in blind. Because as I said before, if I had read the trigger warnings I wouldn't have got to listen to one of the best duet books of this year! and I listen to a lot of audiobooks and these 2 take the top spots for me ♡

oh my heart! ♡♡♡♡
