About this listen

Fall in love with this audio-first charmer from number-one New York Times best-selling author Susan Mallery!

When Nissa Lang’s house sitting job falls through, she’s left with no place to stay for the summer. While she’s figuring out what to do, her old family friend Desmond Stilling hears about her dilemma and invites her to stay on his palatial estate. Trouble is, Nissa’s always had a crush on Desmond, so she’ll have to keep her feelings under wraps....

Ever since Desmond was shipped off to boarding school as a child, Nissa’s tight-knit family was the closest thing he ever had to a real family of his own. Her brother invited him into their clan, and he’d never betray their trust by giving in to the hidden attraction he’s always harbored for Nissa.

But as the season heats up, the two get to know each other in a whole new way. Will their summer together be fleeing - or will it lead to the love of a lifetime?

Worst female narrator ever. Sounds like a computer generated voice. Almost gave up because of it and I certainly won’t listen to anything by her again. The story was ok. A bit Prince Charming but it past the time. Would have been really put out if it had been a paid for book

Cute story. Awful narration

Good story but the intonation of the female narrator was very robotic and took a while to get used to.

really easy listen requiring no thinking and it all turns out just perfectly for everyone involved.

easy, feel good, escapisn

The female voice actor performed the characters very well but didn’t strike the right note in the narrative passages. She was so relentlessly upbeat that it detracted from the text.

Overall the voices were so engineered they sounded simulated at times.

I would have been disappointed had I used a credit.

Nice story with some production quirks

Loved the story. Brother’s best friend romance is always a winner with me. Both Anissa and Desmond have always had a bit of a thing for each other it seems, and when they end up sharing Desmond’s home things start heating up. No matter how much they want to stay in the friends zone, they just can’t help appreciating all the wonderful traits they both have. It’s so easy for Anissa to love, but it appears Desmond thinks he’s incapable of love. Can Anissa prove him wrong? Some wonderful characters (pretty much all of them), a wonderfully sweet and at times highly emotional story, with narration from Jason Clarke, wonderful as always, and Tanya Eby, who, I’ve got to say, I was a little uncertain about throughout, not 100% sure she was the right voice for the role.

Third person is not my ideal
