A frantic female voice calls 911.

Just one chilling playback of the girl's screams tells Detective Annie Logan a clock has started ticking.

The young detective doesn't know the girl's name, she doesn't know where she called from, and most of all, she doesn't know if the girl is still alive.

But Annie will stop at nothing to find her before it's too late.

I’ve listened to this author’s Stone County series and they are nicely written, and well narrated so I know it’s not the writer that’s at fault here. This book was delivered in a bland tone, it became monotonous and I struggled to finish an otherwise engaging story. I won’t be listening to the remaining books in this series sadly.

Not sure if it was the writing or the performance but it was really poor.
