If you love B A Paris' Behind Closed Doors and Linda Green's While My Eyes Were Closed, you will love Before I let You In, the brand-new novel from Jenny Blackhurst, the number one best-selling Kindle author of How I Lost You, which Clare Mackintosh called 'utterly gripping'.

If you don't know who is walking through the door, how do you know if you should let them in?

Karen is meant to be the one who fixes problems. It's her job as a psychiatrist - and it's always been her role as a friend. But Jessica is different. She should be the patient, the one Karen helps. But she knows things about Karen. Her friends, her personal life. Things no patient should know. And Karen is starting to wonder if she should have let her in.

The story is okay but it's really let down by the wooden narration. There is no change in tone between characters so you struggle to realise who's speaking. also her voice has an irritating smugness to it.

reasonable story, ropey narration

This is a good book ruined by the narration. A hideous voice which grates. No difference in voice for any if the characters , male or female. I nearly gave up on this so many times but the underlying story is intriguing. Maybe thats why it was reduced, and the ling pauses between chapters us deadly. They are not consecutively numbered either. Very odd!!

Good story, terrible narration

This book was a good read only spoilt by the long pauses the narrator made between chapters. 5 star for the story.

Enjoyable
