Summary

From USA TODAY best-selling author Sky Corgan comes the riveting prequel to the Flesh series, told from Lucian Reddick's point of view.

Lucian Reddick has just lost his family in a tragic shooting. The pain he feels inside is almost too immense to bear, and he only knows of one way to drown it out. Sex is quickly becoming not enough though. He needs something more. Something darker.

Nice beginning Story

I enjoyed reading the beginning of the story with Lucien. Being pre-Flesh, I was thinking it would be more about his family, before their demise. I thought it would tell us more about his wife and child, how they met, etc. Disappointed we didn't get more background on his relationship. Didn't mind it being so short since it was a before Flesh story.

Must read/listen if you enjoy the series

This short listen explains why Lucian is the way he is and how he got involved with Flesh. It is written in Lucian's POV. The narrator does a great Job bringing the story to life.

This audiobook was provided free of charge in exchange for my honest unbiased opinion.

It's the gateway drug!

I am starting with the prequel and after listening to that... I can't wait to dive into the world of Flesh.

In Before Flesh, we meet Lucien and how he ended up getting involved with Flesh.

The narration was great. I can totally picture Lucien having Robert's exact voice.

A must listen if you like this series!

This is my favorite so far of the series. I am not sure why, except that I love the character of Lucian, and his background is crucial to understanding his motivation into bdsm. This hour long episode gives us the history of how he came to be at Flesh and why...all up to when he goes to see Amy for the first time. I love the supporting characters in this episode too. Having his mistress shed some light into his mind.

Robert Coltrane is awesome in this as always. His voice is extremely sensual. My first Violet Hemming audio and she brought great depth to Grace's character.

Too short

I wished it would have told more about his side of his relationship with AMY ...was disappointed

Tables Turned

Ah, so now we find out a little more about the good Dr. Reddick and what makes him tick. We see his journey of how to cope with his immense guilt and pain after a tragedy robs him of his family. Being punished wasn't nearly as helpful or as stimulating as learning to dominate, and he decides to learn how to be a Dom through Flesh.

Great narration. Robert Coltrane and Violet Hemming do a great job of bringing the written work to life with their performances
