Summary

Once upon a time there was a beautiful college student...

Erin cleans Mr. Morris's house twice a week to pay her tuition. The reclusive ex-soldier intimidates her, but she can't help but feel sympathy for him. Then she walks in on him touching himself, and she has much darker, much more sensual feelings.

And a beastly professor with scars he can't hide...

Blake Morris knows he's scarred both inside and out. He's reclusive and surly. Nowhere near good enough for the smart and beautiful young woman who cleans his house.

He receives an offer to return to his alma mater as an associate professor. This is his chance to reenter the world - and to be worthy of the woman he dreams about. He never expected to see her sitting in his classroom on the first day of the semester.

Author's Note: This book was previously published as a serial in multiple parts, including Beauty Touched the Beast, Beneath the Beauty, and Broken Beauty. They've been collected into this volume and revised for new listeners.

Beauty and The Professor is the first book in A Modern Fairy Tale duet.

My Thoughts on Beauty and the Professor

Finishing the story I was hit by a few things at once. Number one was that I remember now why I hate duets when both parts aren't out. Of course I don't really "hate" them, I just honestly think if I had to wait for book two after the ending to this story I might have gone crazy.

But that leads me to another thing that hit me. Skye Warren is a fantastic author. The words she crafted in this story absolutely drew me in, and had me hanging on every word. I was so completely wrapped up in these characters, and the more I learned about them the more I loved them. I feel like this book kind of gave me everything and of course I appreciated and loved the nod to the classic fairytale. But there was obviously romance and so much passion in the story. There were two amazing leading characters and a couple of pretty decent secondary characters. There was just this great storyline to have me completely hooked and not wanting to put the story down.

And then there was that darn ending. The kind of ending that has your jaw on the floor, you want to throw whatever device you're reading/listening on and at the same time your mind ia blown by just how much you actually loved the story.

I also can't say enough about the narrators for this story Lia Langola has been a favorite of mine for a while and I never hesitate to listen to a new story that she's narrating. Stephen Dexter is a newer narrator to me but I definitely intend to listen to more. He was like the perfect Beast/Professor in this story for me. I felt like his voice was exactly what I would have imagined the Beast to sound like in any retelling of Beauty and the Beast. And I'm just amazed at how perfectly suited he was. Now I am off to start book two because I absolutely need to know how this fantastic story ends.

Quite average tbh.

I’ve read a lot of Skye Warren books, and she writes some great stories, but sometimes I feel like the presence of a secret sinister plot line can overshadow the overall story and she can get lost in it. This one was no different. I loved the beginning, but towards the end when you expect some loose ends to be tied up, it didn’t and maybe that’s why I rated it a bit lower.

Beauty and the Professor

It is so hard for me to leave a review without making any spoilers. I must say that these two definitely had some obstacles to overcome that will keep you on your toes. The way it ended has me absolutely listening to the next asap! Great book with just as great narration.

This book will definitely have you fanning yourself and possibly blushing quite a bit. Very hot and sensual! The ending will have your jaw dropping and scrambling for the second book, Stephen and Lia both did an excellent job in bringing their characters to life, and you’ll find yourself immersed in no time. The book grabs you from chapter one and wanting more at the end!

Realistic peek of the realities of war and University

Realistic peek of the realities of war and life of both students and Professors in the world. I devoured this book all at once and hope part two is done and waiting ❣️

Can’t wait for the next book to see if Erin and Blake get their much deserved HEA. My fingers are crossed for them.

Fantastic narration from both Stephen Dexter and Lia Langola.

Now is book two available right now?

I can't wait to know more!!

The beginning of a modern fairy tale, we meet the first glimpses of Erin and Blakes story. a story that doesn't start very easy and is getting so complicated. Erin works for Blake without knowing he is about to become a very important person in her life, she goes back to school not knowing he is going be her new teacher and this may complicate things for them, not knowing what to do they may need to take some measures that won't be the ideal for them but will keep them safe from the gossiping eyes around.

This is a good story with great characters and the right amount of angst. I can't wait to listen more about this scorching and super hot couple in the next book.

The narrations by Stephen Dexter and Lia Langola were great!! giving the story and the characters a little more depth and feelings.. I felt even more with the story with their way of bringing the story to us.. great work

Beauty Tempts Beast

Audiobook review. This is a different take on Beauty and the Beast with the heroine taking a more active role in pursuing the hero. Their intimate times were sexy but the plot didn’t really get to any parts that showed much character development yet. I’m assuming that means the second part will show some growth.

The narrators Stephen Dexter and Lia Langola, did a great job with the characters. Their pace, tone, and pitch were strong. Their enunciation was clear. I definitely want to hear more of their work.

Very sexy and lovely modern fairytale

I've read these books but listening to the audiobooks made them so much better! I love Erin and Blake, the way the fall so quickly and passionately and the way they would literally do anything for each other. Skye is a beautiful, sensual writer and this comes across so well with Lia and Stephen's voices, they were absolutely perfect (and flamming hot!) I can't wait for the second part. If you don't like a slow burn def go for this story because I was hooked the first 5 mins in. #AudiobookObsession

This book WILL melt your kindle

This book starts out hot and heavy. There is no foreplay, they just get right to business. It is not until a few chapters in that the characters are described Once that description begins, there is no way to out down this book. Blake is so hard to like at first, but once his back story unfolds, you cannot help but to fall in love with him. Erin is sweet and just trying to work her way through school. She does not want any hand outs or favors. I like her strong personality. This story really fills with drama when an ex-girlfriend returns. There is not many winks at the original story, but Beauty and the Professor has a life of its own. It is a great story with an ending that will leave you needing more.

Stephen Dexter and Lia Langola narrate this story. Mr. Dexter is an amazing Blake. He completely brings Blake to life exactly as I imagined him. Mr. Dexter is able to narrate Erin with the same enthusiam. Those hot scenes were even hotter with his narration! No matter what Lia Langola narrates, it is amazing. Ms Langola does not disappoint in this story. Lia narrates Erin exactly as I imagined her. Ms Langola brings out her determination and strength. Ms Langola's sultry voice is perfect for Blake I really enjoyed the duet narration. The narration enhanced the experience of the story.

Retelling of a fairytale done right

This is by far the best retelling of Beauty And The Beast I’ve heard in a very long time.

It’s dirty, it’s forbidden, it’s additive from minute one. I’m only upset that college wasn’t like this for me. The thing about Skye Warren is with her writing style she can take a story you know and still knock you on your butt. I’ll just be over here white knuckling my wait til the next book.

I would recommend this to fans of fairytales, erotic fiction, hot professors, people that already know Skye Warren is the Queen and people that still need to meet her writing.

Modern Day Fairytale

This was not one of my favorites by Skye Warren, however, it was still good. After listening to other by the author I have high standards 😛. This is a first book in a duet so make sure you are ready to listen to book 2 as a follow up. About a college student/maid who falls for her client who becomes her professor. He is scarred by war and feels unloveable. Good start to a story. @audioobsession

The book was better

I read this book first and enjoyed it. First the theme was something I enjoy. I had a hard time with the male narration. I think if it was different I would have enjoyed it more. The female voice for Erin was great. Overall the story was something o would recommend as a book only

Fantastic Audible book and story!!!🔥🔥🔥

This book had me hooked from the beginning. Erin is a strong independent woman that is working hard to put herself through college. She is currently working as a maid for Blake. Blake is a recluse who is an emotionally and physically scarred ex soldier. It is his severely scarred face that keeps him home. When Erin catches Blake satisfying himself, things instantly get really hot for them. I love how Erin sees the man Blake is and not his scars. She encourages him to get out into the world again. These two are so good for each other. There will be obstacles that they must overcome to be together.

Now to the narrators. I must say, oh my gosh, they have captured the heart and soul of these characters! They definitely put the listener right into this story. When Steven Dexter reads the sex scenes they are panty melting explosive. Take a deep breath when they start because you will be breathless by time they finish!

I volunteered to listen to and write an honest review of this Audible book. Skye has written a heart-wrenching and heartwarming tale with this adaptation of Beauty and the Beast. You can't help but fall in love with Blake and Erin. The narrators are perfect for this book. The ending has a cliffhanger which had me yelling, "NO, NO, NO!!!" But never fear book 2 is already out in e-book and Audible book form. This is definitely a must read/listen to book! I would give it more stars if could.

Steamy take on Beauty and the Beast

This was an intriguing spin on the classic Beauty and the Beast story. I liked both Erin and Blake, they were well written and worked well together. The steamy scenes were hot! I am looking forward to the next book.

I enjoyed both the narrators but Stephen Dexter definitely shined. His sex scenes were delivered with such passion and where much hotter. Both he and Lia Langola brought the characters to life.

Contempo Marchen

Beauty and the Professor (A Modern Fairy Tale Duet, Book 1) takes on a nonpareil twist on the classic fairytale Beauty and The Beast with a student/teacher forbidden romance. A erotica, age gap taboo trope swirling through the pages of this modernity fairy tale. I fancy the characters as I found them compelling, and tenacious. The narative is provocative and passionate.
Looking forward to listening to book 2 in this Duet.

Narators Stephen Dexter performance had just the right dose of angst and passion. He articulates a sonorous compelling voice Lia Langola is a new narator that I have just recently discovered. Her pronunciations were clear, as well as her tone and pace flows through smoothly. Together, these two create a off the charts romance.
