Misleading and therefore disappointing.

This is NOT a Batman story. Literally! Batman is not in this story! I was really looking forward to a good detective story. This is teenage Bruce Wayne has a crush on psychopath. This story actually plays much better if you imagine it’s not Bruce Wayne, but in fact Terry McGinnis (future Batman from the tv series Batman Beyond). Because 1. Terry is a naive teenager with a good heart and 2. This has happened to Terry before, when he fell in love in Ten from the Royal Flush gang. The narrator also sounds like Terry too. Like I said, I was looking forward to a good deceive narrative where Batman puts to use his criminology PHD, but instead this is clogged up with a lot of mushy filler that is very un-Bruce-Wayne. I think that’s the most disappointing bit, this really missed the essence of the type of person Bruce Wayne is from an early age. Bruce has been a student, but never a fool.

hmmmmm

a bit too many 'feelings' for my liking but if you want a teenage love story then you might like it.

A great story

This story is your typical crime thriller with the added bonus of it also staring a teenage Bruce Wayne before he became Batman.

Easy going and could be better.

Overall, it's very basic. The story starts like it will be more interesting but follows patterns you've seen before and probably done better.
I wanted to like this but it needed more depth in the plot. Maybe I had too high expectations.
It was well narrated, had some good support characters, which along with the plot, needed some more development.
It's a good weekend relaxer that doesn't require much concentration but could do with more tension in the narrative to have that "what's next" quality.

Really Enjoyed It

As a fan of Batman and the DC universe as a whole I have to say I really enjoyed this take on Bruce Wayne's early years. Particularly the little Easter eggs that will eventually make up the more traditional Batman lore.

Enjoyed the narration, interesting characters

Will Damron makes the whole experience a joy to listen to. Whilst avoiding spoilers, there is an interesting dynamic that emerges in the story that made the whole thing fun and interesting to unravel.

not my batman.

first off, Will Dameron. golden, brilliant. but the bruce wayne here.. christ. i have more batman comics and graphic novels than i care to count. this simply does not fall in line with the ethos in any media or understanding of the character. lets say you consider this then to be non cannon and you change the setting so that the main character's name is thomas and the story isn't called batman nightwalkers, instead just nightwalkers. its okay, and worth listening to/actually reading. frustratingly there is a graphic novel adaptation on the horizon that had a sample being given out for free on batman day, i will still purchase this the art saves this story.
