Summary

The lands to the South are full of depraved women driven mad by forbidden sorcery. Now that sounds like fun for a barbarian from the Black Wolf Clan.

The barbarians of the frozen north live to fight, drink, hunt, and screw, and Ymir is a true son of the Ax Tundra, until a demon curses him with magic. Orphaned by battle and banished by his tribe, Ymir heads south to Old Ironbound, a university where the rich and well-connected learn to master magic. Will Ymir’s traditions and pride lead him to failure? Or will the centuries of knowledge — and the lusty human, elven, orcish, and dwarven noblewomen — give him limitless power?

Either way, while his days are all about studying and scheming, his nights are filled with wild sex in the beds of beautiful women. Because in the lands of the South, there are few men, and those Southern women have needs.

Disclaimer: Barbarian Outcast is a steamy slice-of-life harem adventure in a magic university on another world. The sex scenes are explicit but don’t get in the way of the story as it slowly unfolds. Enter a brand-new world from Aaron Crash, the best-selling author of the American Dragon series.

Tough guy surrounded by women

An easy to follow story about Ymir a Barbarian Outcast by his people for having magic. Stephanie performs very well as usual, giving a nice range of voices. Not having anywhere to go he enrols in the best magic academy to rid himself of his curse. The women in the area outnumber the men by 4 to 1. That and being the sole barbarian with magic ever recorded propels him into almost celebrity status, though not everyone is pleased.

Ymir is no ordinary Barbarian he is also the son of a clan chief. This gave him a good education, along with growing up in the frozen mountains, he is no slow witted man with a club.

Although cock sure, in both meanings, he doesn't just bed anything in sight. He has values and his clan ethics.
I am looking forward to book 2.

Ask a barbarian, What is good in life?

This barbarian (more like LIBRarian) would answer something to the effect, "Women's feelings? Is that ok mistress? May I please look at you? May I please kiss you, may I please touch you," et cetera Et Cetera ET CETERA! This man is NOT a barbarian, he is a 21st century soy swilling betacuck.

So, when you ask, "What is good in life," the answer of a TRUE Barbarian, a Viking, a Mongol tribesman, a PIRATE, a Spanish Conquistador, would be more like this...

To crush your enemies, to see them driven before you and to hear the lamentations of their women.

Main character is a barbarian, yet he is weak and insecure round the women he deals with. This is in a world where human muscle power is the main engine in the economy. Let's be realistic about life and the values assigned to people and their positions in that muscle driven society. The suspension of disbelief required to make this story work outmasses all the baryonic matter in the visible universe.

This story is not worth my time or money.

Meh

Really under developed characters! Lots of pointless sex though. I found myself not caring about what was happening in the story. The narrator is excellent but not any story for her to work with

Nicely done!

Well written. Dark in the right places. Funny in the right places. DEFINITELY sexy in the right places!! A couple of spots seemed a bit too comical for the plot but it didn’t take away from the story at all. I enjoyed it from start to finish and am now halfway through the second book. Definitely Recommend!!

so yeah its exactly what you think

So here's the thing the very light 1st minute of this book tell you exactly what you're getting so just listen to the preview and if your into the cheesy sax music playing in your head while that preview runs then you will love this book. other then that its pretty standard paint by numbers mc wish fulfillment fantasy

This is an excellent start to a series!

A totally different type of world and some very different characters. I really enjoyed this book and the world that was created for this stories universe. The dynamic created lead to interesting interactions between characters and tends to keep us involved in the story. Stephanie Savannah did an excellent job in the narration and I notice the 2nd book is out and I can’t wait for it to be out!

I'll be getting book 2

This was a really great start to a new series. The world was fleshed out, the characters had didn't feel flat, and the story set up nicely for a sequel. The narration by Stephanie Savannah was great. There was a nice range of distinct voices.

wow best of the best

I've honestly never left such a detailed review and I'm over a hundred books in to audible. It's amazing that one person read all the different voices so well. The fantasy had lots of details that made the story believable and interesting. throw it a couple books in the genre that ended up feeling very shallow, This was definitely not that.

This book puts a fun twist on the magical academy idea. Interesting concept with interesting character. Good, solid narration, too.

Very well written!

Great start to a new series, not overly sex crazed. I can't wait for the next book.
