Summary

Brought to you by Penguin.

Now a major Prime TV series starring Alan Ritchson.

You do not mess with Jack Reacher.

He is as close to untraceable as a person can get. A loner comfortable in his anonymity and solitude. So when a member of his old Army unit finds a way to contact him, he knows this has to be serious.

You do not mess with the Special Investigators.

In the past the elite team always watched each other's backs. Now one of them has shown up dead in the California desert and six more are missing.

Reacher's old buddies are in big trouble, and he can't let that go.

Although the Jack Reacher novels can be listened to in any order, Bad Luck and Trouble is the 11th in the series.

There's something about that man.

I have now either read or heard all the Reacher books and oh I wish there were more. With the voice of Jeff Harding - surely the finest voice blending stern threats and machismo on the block - along with the words of Lee Child our creator of Reacher there must be so much more to come. Why? Reacher is both sensitive lover and thug with a heart, 6' 5" of unforgiving justice who carries two fists packed with bone breaking deliverance married with just a scintilla of irony. A caring ex-army major who finds comfort in helping the weak whilst breaking the arm of the town bully. This is why we need more. There's a twisted morality to the character. A flawed hero with neither an address or pretensions.

In this story his old army team highlights the unbreakable loyalty they have to Reacher and each other when one of their number is threatened. I would spoil the reading for you if I went on save to say it is 22 carat Reacher. Listen but don't mess with that man!

Another good but not great Reacher story.

Having read or listened most of the Reacher stories this one just about retains interest. not as compelling as some but good enough

Great listening

Same old Reacher, great supporting cast. loved O'Donnell and the banter between him and Reacher.

the story itself wasn't the best, it left me asking several questions by the end but overall same great read from Jeff Harding.

worth it for the camaraderie alone.

Narration which matches a great story.

I really enjoyed reading all of the Jack Reacher books & didn’t think they could be improved… until I listened to the stories narrated by Jeff Harding. How Mr Harding is able to bring every character - man, woman or child from anywhere in the world - to life, with his voice alone absolutely astounds me! The stories are well worth listening to… the narration is not to be missed!

Easy listening

All the he said she said, I think some could be left out, the voice change make it easy to follow
