Reusing two minor characters from the previous novel might seem like a good idea but it does not work. The hero has a ‘I’m not worthy angst’ which gets sooo tedious so quickly and our ‘heroine’ can’t keep her pants on when she’s near him. The dual dialog narration does not work well as, unlike its predecessor, 80% of the dialog is between two characters and therefore we get two different voices for the same character in a large portion of the book. The steam is anatomical and crude and it’s all a bit of a drag.

I really enjoyed this 2nd book in the series. I like how we saw what Gen leaving did to Evan in the first book and how that carries through to this one. I'd say definitely worth reading if you like other Elle Kenedy books!
