The Ultimate Guide

The author explains what you should pack, where to camp, how to find water, what kinds of food and how much to bring, many safety tips, and so much more! This is a really good, very common sense guide for those of us who want to hike or maybe even stay out in the woods for a few days. You can use it to plan your whole trip!

Very educational as well as helpful.

This book is a good guide to help me know everything about going backpacking and hiking. A good beginners guide to backpacking. It tells you what to pack and how to pack it, and lists some top places for any backpacker to see.

The Backpacker's Field Manual

I have learned valuable tricks and techniques for hiking safely and considerately. I am going to spend more time practicing the knots, map reading and compass skills before begining a multi-day hike. But the questions I had are all answered in this informative book.
