Summary
Blair
I had dreams. Big ones. And Dean Carter did everything in his power to help me achieve them.
Until we fell in love and everything fell apart. Now everyone thinks I tried to sleep my way to the top and I can’t say I blame them when the evidence points to exactly that.
However, looks can be deceiving....
Dean
Blair McKenzie is the definition of perfect. She’s crazy talented and hot as...well, you get the point. But aside from all that, she has heart and in this business, heart is hard to come by.
In a moment of weakness, I had a lapse in judgment and nearly cost her everything.
Now I need to do the right thing. Except it feels wrong.

Rock & Romance💕
This is my first Ryleigh Sloan and I can not wait to read more. Erin & Zachary are two of my absolute faves throw in Rockstar Romance and this was a no brainer.
Erin portrays Blair perfectly. Just the right amount of naïve mixed with a heady strong personality. Gah & Zachary is all sex god swoony as Dean🔥

Back Beat
Back Beat is my first book by Ryleigh Sloan. It was fun and captivating, and I loved everything about it including Dean and Blair and their instant attraction and sweet romance. I really enjoyed the whole South African wildlife reserve part of it. This book was almost an American Idol meets Wild Kingdom theme with emphasis on the judge/contestant forbidden romance. The epilogue was the perfect ending and really makes me want to listen to Maddie's story as soon as it comes out on audio.
Erin Mallon and Zachary Webber are my two favorite narrators so anytime I see a book with them together, I know it's going to be amazing. As always, they did a spectacular job bringing this story to life.

Back Beat
What a book! I love to watch all the music talent shows on tv so this was a perfect choice for me. And when you add the drama and forbidden love to the mix it is perfect. This book will definitely pull on your heartstrings and with the epilogue I definitely need to get the next to see another great love story.

Book 1
This was an interesting book. The main characters were on a reality singing show (kind of like the voice) so there was all the reality show vibes and drama. It had an interesting spin because of where Blair was from. Not a lot of heated scenes. The Narration was awesome. You can’t go wrong with these two narrators. I recommend this book. 🎧Audiobook Obsession

Romance and music!!
I couldn’t have picked better narrators myself,Erin portrays Blair perfectly and I absolutely loved Zachary as Dean. This book has it all, the highs and the lows. Sometimes you want to open Blairs eyes, and wake Dean up. They come around in the end and the ending is perfect. I can’t wait to listen to more this series.

So good
Blair McKenzie has BIG dreams. I love her heart and aspirations!
Dean Carter was sexy as sin and definitely had my heart from the beginning. I loved these two together and hated the turmoil/backlash they received. I loved the chemistry and connection. I wanted to see things work out so bad! I mean I was completely Team Dean same as Blair, but I knew it was wrong. I wanted the connection between them but wished it was under different circumstances.
There was so much to these two besides just steam, there was a true connection and I was all about it! This was the first book I've ever read by this author and I was really thrilled to find a new author! Her writing is really good and draws you into the story.
Erin Mallon and Zachary Webber were sooo good! I loved them as Blair and Dean!

Music, Safari and Love!
I really enjoyed it. Ryleigh melds two cultures seamlessly. Blair is a contestant in a singing competition held in America, but she’s from South Africa, so we get to have a sneaky into what it would be like to live there. Think wild animals, helicopter rides, tending to wounded lions on a game reserve and being part of a close knit family. Dean is one of the judges and tries to fight his attraction to Blair but ultimately fails. We get the cat fights behind the scenes between contestants and the drama that goes with a judge falling for a contestant on his team.
Although the story was about a singing competition it wasn’t completely predictable, it has a good plot with some great characters. There is heart and drama and jealousy and heat.
Erin Mallon and Zachary Webber narrate it, two seasoned voice actors that brought this book to life. Great narrator choices by Ryleigh. I was happy that Erin didn’t try to do a South African accent. I believe if you can’t do an accent flawlessly, please don’t try. A bad accent is truly distracting and often puts me right off an audiobook so her decision not to do the accent was a good one and much appreciated. As always she gave us all the facets of Blair and I always enjoy her interpretations of inner monologues. Timing is everything and she nailed it. Zachary gives us the cocky coach who ends up completely floored by Blair’s talent and beauty. He showed us what a bumbling mess Dean was around her and how he fully tried to repair the damage he had caused. All in all a great audiobook and I’m looking forward to diving into book 2 soon.

The making of a star
I received this audiobook free for an honest review as a member of the Pink Flamingo Productions Review Team. Loved this story. Blair has to choose between love, family and a singing career. Dean doesn't make it easy. The author gave us a story that I couldn't stop listening to. The two narrators are two of the best. They enhance the passion of the characters in this story and bring it to life. Looking for more books by this author.

Loved Every Moment!!!
Back Beat was my first book by this author and I am so excited I found both this book and this author. Back Beat was a highly engaging and interesting read about Blair who has dreams of making it big as a singer. She leaves her home of South Africa and goes on television to try and achieve her dream and ends up meeting Dean, who becomes her coach on the show. Their chemistry is off the charts, though they also have a connection that seems to be deeper too. Despite their attraction, they keep things professional as Dean really wants Blair to succeed....until the day Blair's world is turned upside down and she needs emotional support and Dean wants to be the one to provide it, and this sets them on a course that they might not be able to recover from.
I absolutely adored both Blair and Dean and I loved them together. I loved that Blair went after her dreams, even when her father didn't approve and even when the chances of achieving them seemed out of reach. I loved how hard she worked and that she didn't think it would just be handed to her. I loved that Dean saw something in her and truly appreciated her gift and wanted to do whatver he could to help her achieve her dream, and when push came to shove, he sacrificed himself for her.
I loved all the things about this book. I can see myself definitely checking out more of this author's work as I loved the story line, the characters, and the author's writing style. Absolutely 100% definitely recommend!!!
Erin Mallon and Zachary Webber did a fantastic job as Blair and Dean. They are both incredibly easy and entertaining to listen to and are among my favorites in terms of narrators. I would highly recommend them. #AudiobookObsessionReviewer

This is a super fun listen. A couple of hot, talented people, a singing competition and Zachery Webber’s voice it doesn’t get any better.
The narration is top notch Erin and Zach have some of the most enjoyable voices Ive heard. I can listen to them all day!
Side note the fan girl nods to Helena Hunting from the Doritos breath to just full on bringing her up were life!

4.5 Stars Finding Fame, Finding Love
I enjoyed the change in the rock star romance. . A girl from South Africa, having grownup on a game preserve (cool idea) loves to sing and write music. She goes to America to take parent on a show like American Idol/the Voice. Her mentor is a rock star who is known for his no commitment behavior, but he finds his feels are different with this girl.
Loved the girl, she was sweet but strong, loving and kind. She was surrounding by those who appreciated her and one other contestant who was jealous.
The rockstar was nice enough but for being 8 years older than the girl was immature...seemed to be the quintessential male who doesn’t always think things through very well...but he actually is a nice guy and likable.
Love these narrators..they make a story flow, draw you in and pull for the characters.

Rockstar Romance with a twist of The Voice
* 4.5 Stars *
I’ve been struggling through the last few audiobooks I’ve listened to so I was really hesitant to jump into another unknown, but I wanted to trust that Erin Mallon and Zachary Webber wouldn’t let me down. They are two of my favorite narrators and really, I could listen to them narrate anything but luckily this story was able to stand up all on it’s own. Back Beat was able to fully pull me out of the slump I’ve been in; I felt like I was watching a friend take part in The Voice and I didn’t want it to end. I loved the instant chemistry and the easy friendship between Dean and Blair. I am normally all about the bad boy rock star but Blair was the main draw for me in this one, I loved how she was the ultimate nice girl… there really wasn’t anything I couldn’t like about her. The forbidden romance aspect of the story added a little bit of drama into the mix but really, this was just an all around simple but great story!

Forbidden romance with a twist!
Back Beat was my first book by this Author. I found the story to be very engaging! From the start I was invested in the characters and their stories. I don’t watch reality TV or music competitions, but I enjoyed the competitive aspect of this story and the complex interactions of coaches and contestants. Blair is a strong woman who has traveled across the world to go after her dreams. She is endearing from the start and you can’t help rooting for her to win it all! I love her family, and her bestie (Maddie) is all kinds of awesome! Dean inspires swooning and you can’t help but get lost in the promise of his good intentions. Their connection is immediate and palpable, so you get all of the anticipation building up. Ultimately, this story is about falling in love when you least expect it, how easy it is to get lost in the moment, and coming to terms with the consequences. I really enjoyed this book and look forward to more by this Author! She has excellent choice in narrators! Erin Mallon & Zachary Webber are always wonderful performers and allow you to get lost in the characters and swept up the story. They really brought this story to life! Blair is from South Africa, so I was expecting the SA accent, but that didn’t take away from the story for me.
I received this audiobook in exchange for an honest review. I’m so glad I did and look forward to more from this Author! Drop Beat is Maddie’s story and I am diving into this next!

Blair + Dean =Sweet Rockstar Romance
This book was every bit as sweet as book 2 was steamy and hot!
I loved this book and this storyline about Blair & Dean! Erin & Zach were great as the MCs and I can never get enough of their voices.
Blair has dream and a chance to hit it big in the music industry when she nails a spot in a singing competition. Dean saw her and knew she would be a star and becomes her mentor in the show. Sparks fly, they tumble into love and then reality hits them hard!
Will they get their HEA? oh yes, but it didn't come easy!
I loved this book and there was definitely enough heat to keep me interested and happy!
Bonus in the eplilogue you get a glimpse if Maddie, Blair's BFF (featured on book 2) and she is a HOOT!!
