Stress can start to feel like just another part of being an adult: always tired, overwhelmed, anxious, or emotionally drained. But what if those feelings are connected to more than what’s happening in your mind?
In this episode, I’m joined by Miriam Putnam, a certified wellness coach and holistic mental health advocate. Miriam’s personal experience with her mother’s struggles in the mental health system led her to explore how the body, mind, and soul work together in wellness.
We talk about chronic stress and its effects on sleep, hormones, digestion, immunity, and emotional resilience. Miriam also shares her perspective on the mind and brain, her Mind-Muscle Exercise, and everyday foundations of wellness—from movement and nutrition to sunlight, connection, purpose, and boundaries.
If you’ve been feeling stretched thin or disconnected from yourself, this conversation offers thoughtful questions and small places to begin.
In this episode, we discuss:
- Miriam’s story and what led her to this work
- Why so many people feel overwhelmed, even when life looks fine from the outside
- How stress can show up physically and emotionally
- The difference between the mind and the brain
- Miriam’s Mind-Muscle Exercise
- Everyday foundations that can support well-being
- What holistic mental health means to Miriam
- Protecting your energy and setting healthier boundaries
- Small practices that can help you feel more balanced
