The Books of the Kingdom, Part 2: Kings is Lance Lambert's Bible study on 1 and 2 Kings, the Old Testament books that record the history of Israel and Judah from the reign of Solomon to the exile. It is the second volume of his study of the Books of the Kingdom, following Part 1: Samuel.

Lance Lambert gave this series, Through the Bible with Lance Lambert, to the fellowship at Halford House in Richmond, Surrey, in the 1960s. He gave an overview of each book of the Bible and taught on the Lord's purposes through it. In Kings he explains how the history fits into the larger picture of the Old Testament, and why God included it in His word.

The key to these books, as to Samuel, is the king, the kingdom, and kingship. In Samuel, the kingdom is established after a long, contested climb. Kings is a steady decline: Israel at the height of its glory under Solomon, the division of the kingdom, the ministry of Elijah, and the long departure that ends with Israel taken into captivity in Assyria and Judah in Babylon. Lance shows what these events teach about the kind of king God makes, and the moral character His people must have.

The audiobook follows the chapters of the book: Introduction to Kings, Solomon's Reign, The Divided Kingdom from Jeroboam to Elijah, From Elijah to Athaliah, From Jehu to Hoshea, The Single Kingdom of Judah, and Manasseh to the End of Judah.

It is suited to anyone studying 1 and 2 Kings, the divided kingdom of Israel and Judah, or the kingdom of God in the Old Testament. Scripture quotations are from the American Standard Version (1901).
