Ella Enchanted meets Assistant to the Villain in this hysterical and spellbinding debut rom-com retelling of your favorite fairy tale . . . except this time, the diva who conjured the glass slippers is crashing the ball.
Washed-up party sorceress, Vinny Highport, is having a very public crash-out. She just needs one good deed as evidence she’s not a total lost cause.
Her mission? Convince the royal family to hire her as their in-house sorceress (despite her last few years off the rails). Her strategy? Rebrand herself as a benevolent faery godmother, and ensure her goddaughter gets hitched to the handsome Prince Charming. It’s the perfect PR move!
There are only a few problems with her plan. For one, her sweet little goddaughter, Ella, has grown into a complete doormat. Also, Owen Colthorne—her father’s former apprentice who Vinny once had a very inconvenient crush on—won’t stay out of her business. But the biggest issue by far is Vinny’s unique ability to piss people off. Still, everyone, even a rebellious godmother with a mile-long list of screwups, deserves a happily-ever-after . . . no matter how many bridges (or towns) she burns.
