Welcome to today’s Bible study.

In this episode of 2 Kings 24 (KJV), we continue our verse-by-verse journey through the book of 2 Kings as Judah faces Babylonian invasion, political instability, and the consequences of persistent rebellion against God. This chapter explores judgment, disobedience, prophecy, leadership, and the faithfulness of God's Word.

King Jehoiakim rebels against Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon, and Judah faces attacks from surrounding nations. These events fulfill the LORD's judgment against Judah for the sins of Manasseh and the innocent blood shed in Jerusalem.

After Jehoiakim's death, Jehoiachin becomes king but soon surrenders to Babylon. Nebuchadnezzar takes the king, his family, officials, skilled workers, and treasures from Jerusalem into exile. Zedekiah is appointed king, but he also rebels against Babylon, setting the stage for Jerusalem's final destruction.

Through this chapter, we see the consequences of persistent disobedience and the fulfillment of God's warnings through His prophets. Judah's downfall reminds us that no nation or leader stands beyond God's authority.

Together, we will study this chapter verse-by-verse, exploring its historical context, theological depth, and spiritual lessons about judgment, rebellion, leadership, prophecy, repentance, and God's sovereignty.
