Lisa Kleypas is master of writing original and compelling historical romances. Devil in Spring is not the exception; it's fun, well paced, romantic and with an unique heroine who knows she can't fit in society due to her "nervous condition" but nevertheless she has a lot of self-respect. She knows what she wants and nobody will make her change her mind but when Gabriel comes along, wanting and needing a change in his life after being in a relationship with no good prospects, Pandora can't deny her feelings and she's is the challenge and fresh air he needs. Mary Jayne Wells narration makes the story like watching a movie, adding each character their own personalities with their voices. I can't imagine any other narrator reading the book. She literally brings the story alive.
