The years is 1965. Susan Jones is desperate to escape the town that’s slowly choking the life out of her. Struggling to scrape together enough money for a fresh start, she stumbles into a job at the crumbling Crowford Empire – a once-grand cinema with a dark past.
Long before the Empire screened films, it was the site of an unspeakable tragedy. The building may have been renovated, but its walls still remember, and locals whisper of a woman in black who wanders the corridors long after closing time.
At first, Susan dismisses the stories. But as strange occurrences escalate, she begins to suspect that the Empire’s long-dead past is clawing its way back into the light. What does Winifred Thorpe’s restless spirit want?
