Fantasy novella inspired by games and their players.

In a world fractured by magic and time, I, the humble storyteller, find myself piecing together a tale I can scarcely believe.

It begins with a halfling bard named Digram, whose discovery of a forgotten melody sets him and his companions on a dangerous quest.

The dwarf Beryl, the human noble Minelira, and the elven warrior Lord Vaelior all carry their secrets, scars, and simmering tensions into this perilous journey. Together, they brave forests alive with menace, tunnels steeped in shadow, and caves where trolls plot their next meal.

The magic rings promise a wish fulfilled, but as I uncover their history, I see how much more dangerous it is to seek what lies within one’s deepest heart.

Perhaps I am no more than a scribe to their adventure—but if you’re reading this, you too are caught in its spell.

The Forgotten Five pulled me into its world from the very first page, and I couldn’t put it down until the end. I loved how the story blended the feeling of a classic fantasy quest with the emotional depth of its characters. The halfling bard Digram was my favorite; his curiosity and courage made the group’s journey feel alive and meaningful. What impressed me most was how each character carried personal secrets that slowly unfolded, revealing how fragile and human even magical beings can be.I would recommend this book to fantasy lovers who enjoy character-driven adventures with a touch of melancholy. It’s a short but powerful read that lingers in your imagination long after the final page.

This audiobook completely pulled me in. The story is full of suspense, mystery, and emotional depth, and the characters felt so real that I found myself invested in each of their struggles. Every twist kept me guessing right up to the end.

Sean Daugherty’s narration was excellent—his voice gave the story an added intensity and made the atmosphere even more gripping. If you enjoy thrillers that are both smart and emotional, The Forgotten Five is a must-listen.

The Forgotten Five: Levelling Up Together was a really fun surprise. I wasn’t expecting to get so attached to the characters in such a short audiobook, but the group dynamic is honestly what makes it shine. Digram is clever and chaotic in the best way, Beryl made me laugh out loud more than once, and the two nobles, each dealing with their own baggage, add a nice bit of depth to the story.

Highly recommend

The story feels like sitting by a campfire listening to an old legend, which I really enjoyed. The narration is great and adds a lot of warmth to the story. I just wish the pacing was a little quicker in some parts, but overall it’s a nice and a cozy listen that leaves you with that classic adventure vibe.

Good story but a bit slow sometimes
