Loved the narration from Bobby Garrison


Imagine your world turned up side down, a solar storm hit and your life changes. U.S. Marshall Cody Greer is collecting Caleb a fugitive when a solar storm hits leaving him stranded with no easy means to get back to his family. No electricity, computers, cell phones, worse is the people who now become dangerous . Needing to get back home and still do his duty. Trust is slowly law officer and fugitive start to trust each.

Trust, family drama and learning who is what they seem to be and not .

This is a slow, 'cozy', SHTF story but with practically no action. The story doesn't really move on from Emma waiting for her husband Cody to get back home, and fugitive Frost trying to get back to his sister. Unfortunately, there is very little content on Frost who was the most interesting character. The main focus of the story is on Emma who takes it upon herself to coordinate the neighbourhood resources in order to survive the food and water shortages. The most action happens in the last 5 minutes, which also ends on a big cliff-hanger.

The narration was good. But for me, the story was too slow, there wasn't enough action nor interesting things happening in the story to keep my attention. I also found it really annoying that the author constantly repeated "Cody will be home soon", "Cody will be fine" and "Grace, she's such a pretty little thing" seemingly hundreds of times throughout the book. I also don't think the book was very realistic or gritty.
