From bestselling author Franklin Horton comes this new installment in his Borrowed World–Locker Nine–Mad Mick universe.

Willie grew up outside of Damascus, Virginia, and life was never easy for her. She’s a hard-as-nails single mom who struggles to make ends meet with little support and few opportunities. She’s also the community “rescue mom”, taking in young people with no other place to go. All this while dodging an ex-boyfriend turned stalker who also happens to be a cop.

Willie only made it to adulthood by being resilient. That toughness, combined with a series of odd jobs and side hustles, helps keep her unorthodox family afloat. All those qualities will be tested when a terror attack leaves the nation in an indefinite blackout, and life suddenly becomes even harder. On top of it, the conflict between Willie and her ex-boyfriend is escalating and this time neither of them is willing to back down.

The book is a great addition to the other series in the post apocalyptic world created by the author. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who has enjoyed any of the authors other books and I would suggest anyone new to the author give this one a try and be prepared to get fixed on the author’s post apocalyptic universe

Another fantastic book in a already large apocalyptic universe

i pushed through 5 hours because i've listened to other stories from the author; i cant take anymore and had to give up.

Very two dimensional female lead. Its a common issue in the genre of books but I expected better from this author. School of hard knocks, single mother blah blah blah. It was basically that on repeat behind a story line that just doesn't capture you. Theres no hook in the first half of the book. thats a long time to wait to be interested
