A stressed out, super-powered private investigator puts herself in harm’s way in pursuit of justice in this original Marvel story.

As a private eye in New York City, it’s Jessica Jones’s job to investigate humanity’s worst, unleashed impulses. Possessing superhuman strength and endurance does nothing to help her process other people’s tragedies, much less her own slate of unresolved traumatic issues. Realizing drinking and hitting things is no way to cope with her problems—no matter how much fun it is—Jessica gives therapy a try.

But she finds it hard to look after herself when so many people need help. Hired to find a missing boy, Jessica follows a trail that ends with his dead body, the apparent victim of a drug overdose. Her gut instinct tells her the case isn’t solved, leading Jessica into an even deeper, darker mystery . . .

Jessica Jones: Playing With Fire is a collaborative novel by Lauren Beukes, Vita Ayala, Sam Beckbessinger, Zoe Quinn, and Elsa Sjunneson.

Jessica just can’t help being the hero. No matter how much of a simple life she tries to live, big trouble always seems to find her.
Jessica, always damaged but always curious and determined.
In this adventure she is joined by some old friends and meets some new ones as she takes a simple case that is anything but simple.
Great listen, thoroughly enjoyable.

A new case but a very old villain.

I thought it was a great marvel story, also the narrator was excellent, it's a bit short but would recommend to marvel fans.

Thought it was a pretty good story and the actors played their parts well
The story takes cues from the Defenders saga of the MCU but toned down slightly emphasis on slightly the story is definitely in the T for teenage rating but the implications of certain moments are obvious especially if you’re familiar with the source material
The writers also include characters that at this time haven’t really made the jump to live action and put their own spin on them
I won’t name them for risk of spoilers though admittedly as a comics fan I mentally facepalmed when at certain dramatic reveal for not connecting the dots

Fun YA story

It was another great Jessica Jones mystery though most of it felt slow and predictable. The audio is superb and engaging though.

Great for Jessica Jones fans
