Easy listening, charming story - very sweet. Narration lost a star because of poor French and German pronunciation- not difficult in this day and age to find out how they should be pronounced

A magical story that I fell into and didn’t want to leave. The interwoven stories all narrated perfectly.
I will actually listen again.

To me …this is what reading is all about

A change from my usual genre of cops and robber type books and who done its. I loved it, it changed tack enough to make me not want to put it down . Very well done.

Thoroughly enjoyed this book.

Loved the story and in parts it is a cosy magical story with parts of realism with the female characters. However I felt it very rushed towards the end, leaving me a little confused with parts of story and lots of questions unanswered. It’s definitely worth a read or listen but just bear in mind the ending does not do the story justice.

Disappointed with the Ending

It’s always nice to come across a story that’s not just another endless version of a samey genre. This was a lovely gentle story set over 2 time periods where we follow two sets of characters in their respective time and how they relate to each other. It’s part mystery, part love story and part concerning men’s treatment of women, all wrapped up with a sprinkle of magic.

It’s an easy listen and the writing is uncomplicated- nothing that set my world alight and a little cheesy in places, but warm and compelling. I will probably listen again once I’ve forgotten what happened.

Enjoyable magical tale
