A single-dad sports romance from Wall Street Journal and USA Today best-selling author Devney Perry.
Football star. Single dad. And once, a long time ago, mine.
I’ve spent the better part of a decade forgetting Ford Ellis. If he had just stayed away from Montana, I might have erased the memory of his striking blue eyes and rugged smile forever. Avoiding him was easy when the only place I saw his face was on ESPN—and a remote control could fix that problem.
Except my boss just hired Ford as the new head coach for the Treasure State Wildcats. Not only will I be stuck watching him on the sidelines this season, but avoiding him will be impossible now that we’re working together.
Maybe I haven’t forgotten Ford. Maybe I still dream about what we might have been. Maybe he hasn’t forgotten me either.
Except those maybes won’t change the fact that we were never meant to be. Maybe he was mine once. But as of today, the only thing I’ll be calling Ford Ellis is Coach.

There were plenty of obstacles for Millie & Ford to overcome to keep the story interesting and enjoyable. This book is in no way a lesser story without any screaming rows 😊
Excellent narration by Teddy Hamilton & Ava Erickson as always.
Lovely, Happy Story ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I love the “it was always her” trope so my heart was swooning from the very start. I loved Ford and his dedication to his daughter and his intentional pursuit of Millie. I especially loved how they were friends first and foremost, and then that naturally developed to lovers. The fact that he was willing to sacrifice his career for her had me like 🥹 He wasn’t willing to let her go again!
I loved how Millie stood up for all the athletes and teams she represented. She was such a badass at her job which was so nice to see in typically male-dominated careers. Go Millie! I also loved that she knew what she had earned and she didn’t want to lose that, but she was also willing to make sacrifices for love. That’s a tricky balance and I loved how Devney Perry wrote that side of the story.
This book went straight to No. 1 in the Kindle Store on release day and I was not surprised at all! It was such a beautiful second chance story with a new spin on typical Sports Romance! It’s available on Kindle Unlimited, so you need to go read it asap!

This is a lovely audiobook that's well narrated.😍
A cute and romantic second chance at love for best friends from college, Millie and Ford!🙏🏼💘 He's had an awful 10 year marriage, and now divorce, but can't regret it as he has a beautiful and fiesty daughter he adores! They move to his old college for him to become head coach of the football team and find's his true love still there!🫶
Enjoyable.⭐️

A very familiar sports romance lacking in some depth of characterisation and plot.
A bit too predictable
