Summary
The Little Mermaid meets Loki in this dark, twisted retelling that’s anything but a Fairy Tale. In this world, foes look like friends, the heroes are deliciously wicked, and you’ll never see the end coming.
Ten years ago, I "died", and it was the best thing that ever happened to me.
I should have known it wouldn't last.
Once my family thought I was dead I was finally free to live. Until the day my brother walks into my tiny book shop.
No one leaves the Grayling pack and gets away with it. They drag me back, but not for the reason I believe.
My mother has made an enemy of a powerful witch and I am to take the punishment meant for her. Death would have been kinder.
This curse? What I am now? It's so much worse than I could have imagined. She didn't just cut me off from my wolf, or even simply kill me. She made me a golden retriever and sent me to a shelter. I'm ready to die in truth now, I'm hoping for it even. Whyyyyy do you do this to us Shannon?! I do have to say that at first I was a little hesitant…I mean stuck as a Golden?! Then here you come with your twists and stick em riiiight there! Oh I can’t wait for more!!

if you have enjoyed shannon mayer 's books
I think your going to like this new one .... I love the forty proof series inparticular and am happy to start on a new adventure with a female shifter .. at the centre and a big hunky norseman and other supporting supernatural creatures ..... however if you are embarking on this adventure now (Jan 2023) the next books release date is July... and there is a real teaser of an ending ..... how cruel to make us weight half a year. ..... like her other books I will be replaying this one many times before the next is released.

Great new series
When a wolf gets cursed due to her mothers misdemeanours then ends up in the pound only her mate can save her from her brothers and the pack …
Or maybe he’s not the good guy, maybe she has to save herself or maybe she even further up sh** creek

Golden
It's a good start to what I hope will become a great tail, it has some unusual twists in it, which I'm hoping will help make it stand out rather than be to far fetched. First time I've listen to Any Landon, her voice is pleasing to the ear and her character definition was excellent. Looking forward to hearing more from her.

Hilarious and Entertaining
What an amazing take on “The Little Mermaid”, I couldn’t put it down, switching between the audio and the e-book. The narration by Amy Landon took some getting used to and I wasn’t sure about some of the accents but in the end I found that I couldn’t stop listening. It was so much fun and the exchanges between Cin and Bebe were priceless. And that final line - yep, pure evil of Ms Mayer to leave us hanging there!
