Photography student Toby Unsworth has found the location for the perfect night-time shoot. A cobbled street in the old part of Fenfleet. Later, when he looks at the images on his laptop, he thinks he sees a woman's face in the window of an old, disused building. He asks his housemate Alex to come and take a look . . .

Two days later, Toby and Alex are dead. Carbon monoxide poisoning. An unfortunate accident. But Alex's mother doesn't believe it. She hires Matt and Liz to find out the truth.

The Bag of Secrets

Something feels different about this one. Whether it’s the narration or the plot I’m not sure. The characters are already established from earlier stories but somehow I had to keep rewinding as a chapter or two rolled by unnoticed.
The last few chapters injected a bit of pace and some tension but it was like waiting for a Jack-in-the-box to pop up and spook you; the anticipation wasn’t supported by the finale.
Slow-paced almost to the point of tedium at times and little variation in character voice in this delivery at least. Only my view of course but felt a little disappointed at the end.
